The Department of Family Services is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Director who will be responsible for direct oversight of community and family programs which include: Customer Services, Daycare, Emergency Services, Public Assistance and Temporary Assistance to Needy Families. This position will be responsible for improving collaborations, consistency, and improved efficiencies to our clients who are served by the Department as well as supervision of the Program Managers in these areas. Applicant must have the ability to communicate effectively with Department Heads, County Administration, and the Board of Supervisors as directed. Must be able to develop and maintain effective working relationships with agency staff, County Administration, courts and local officials. This position will represent department management at County, Regional, and State meetings in the assigned areas. The successful candidate will have a proven success record in organizational change processes, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills and workforce management, to include caseload assignments and quality improvement. Requires experience working with a culturally diverse workforce and communities, and extensive human services knowledge and experience. Hiring Range: Up to $117,430 DOQ. Recruitment #18-A3-0188. Requirements

Any combination of experience and education equivalent to a Master's degree in Social Work or a related field and seven years’ of directly related professional experience, including some supervisory oversight, which must be included on application. Extensive knowledge and experience in the administration of human services and public assistance programs required. May be required to work evenings or weekend hours as needed. Valid driver's license required. Successful candidate will undergo a criminal background, credit, and Child Protective Services check.
