Job Details

 As a key member reporting to our Director of Human Resources, you will have the responsibility to:

  • Manage the administration of company sponsored health, welfare, retirement plans, ESOP and other company plans and programs;
  • Manage Thielsch’s payroll operations;
  • Provide special guidance and assistance to all divisions on employee benefits policies and payroll; serve as SME on each benefit plan’s details and provisions;
  • Support benefit plan compliance activities including: ACA reporting, Form 5500s and non-discrimination testing; semi-annual FSA discrimination testing;
  • Coordinate and maintain benefits database records throughout the benefit plan year;
  • Coordinate and facilitate open enrollment process and meetings for all optional programs;
  • Maintain ongoing contact with all benefit providers regarding service delivery or claim processing issues/concerns; ensure that carriers are administering claims in accordance with plan specifications and service-level expectations;
  • Serve as the main point of contact with selected external vendors to coordinate annual renewal process, quarterly review of plan performance, resolution of any significant claims issues, etc.;
  • Serve as main point of contact for TPAs: STD, LTD, FMLA, COBRA and coordinate STD/LTD claims administration;
  • Ensure that company policies and practices relating to benefits administration, benefits record retention, and HIPAA privacy act regulations are in compliance with benefits laws;
  • Accountable for compliance with all requirements of the Affordable Care Act (ACA); ensuring documentation and all other reporting requirements are completed and submitted timely;
  • Serve as a member of the 401(k) Investment Committee; coordinate quarterly meetings; annual education campaigns; Coordinate 401(k) year-end audit;
  • Orient new hire employees on benefit programs and enrollments; 
  • Work with finance to ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with all tax laws;
  • Maintain a working knowledge of federal, and state legislation influencing compensation and benefits;
  • HRIS: Manage all benefits related changes, upgrades and implementation of vendor related feeds within HRIS systems (ADP Workforce Now);
  • Other special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resource Management, Accounting, Finance, or similar discipline; or greater than 10 years of equivalent HR benefits experience and background;
  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist or other HR certification (preferred);
  • 5 years of related benefits administration/experience;
  • Experience working with an ESOP
  • Intermediate knowledge of benefits business, including products and services, operations, and delivery;
  • Intermediate knowledge of general system environment and process flow with ADP and WorkforceNow required;
  • Advanced Microsoft Office, Publisher and Access skills;
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft SharePoint
  • Intermediate compliance knowledge, regulatory and legislative knowledge in aligned service area;
  • Basic knowledge of overall financial management;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to coach others on these skills;
  • Strong interpersonal skills, especially specific to persuasion, influence, and negotiation. Has track record of being able to influence indirect parties and shared services functions to accomplish client objectives;
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills to facilitate effective conversations with internal and external clients;
  • Ability to adapt well to changing priorities in a fast paced environment;
  • Demonstrates excellent organizational skills;
