Join our Benefits department, in Chicago, as a Benefits Administrator. This individual will maintain the PeopleSoft Benefit Administration module to ensure data integrity and accuracy. Will also collaborate with HRIS, HRIT, Recruitment and Payroll departments in the design, implementation and improvement of benefits processes and procedures as appropriate.


  • Participate in the maintenance of the HRMS set-up for Base Benefits, Automated Benefits, eBenefits and ACA
  • Partner with Payroll, HRIS and HRIT to resolve data issues regarding Ben Admin processing, People Soft Ded Calc, etc.
  • Participate on testing and implementation activities for PeopleSoft Ben Admin upgrades, system enhancements, and bug fixes
  • Maintain data integrity by running queries and analyzing data. Work with HRIS on the creation or revisions of department queries to assure that we have all requisite data elements in order to perform day-to-day administration of benefits
  • Ensure accuracy for all benefit-related PeopleSoft DedCalc deductions into payroll systems
  • Ensures that weekly Eligibility Interface files are sent to appropriate carriers with changes, new enrollments, separations, retirements, etc. including Cobra. Researches any data rejects. Works with HRIS/HRIT on issues or updates to interface files
  • Responsible for maintaining required compliance documentation, intranet link to eBenefits and instructions for online enrollment as well as Schwab 401(k) administration details
  • Runs required audit reports for open enrollment, reconciles and works with Benefits Analysts to correct data as needed. Collaborates with HRIS on the creation and modification of benefits related queries
  • Develops and maintains Ben Admin documentation and provide hands-on training to Benefits Analysts
  • Serves as primary point-of-contact/responsible for maintaining monthly Direct Billing process. Correspond with and track individuals on Leave of Absence (LOA) for insurance premium payments during unpaid LOA (FMLA, Workers Comp, Personal and Military) and through LTD eligibility


  • Bachelor's Degree or an equivalent combination of education/experience may be considered in lieu of the degree when the experience has been directly related to the functions of the job
  • Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) certification strongly preferred
  • At least five years of previous benefits administration experience required
  • At least two years of benefit systems experience, in PeopleSoft, strongly preferred
  • Completed Oracle/PeopleSoft training highly desired
  • Knowledge of ACA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, ERISA, 401(k) and applicable regulations required
  • Experience using PeopleSoft version 9.1 or higher, PeopleSoft Query, Microsoft Outlook and ADP PayForce or other similar payroll system preferred
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, including but not limited to advanced functions, pivot tables, and XML templates required
  • Experience with new vendor implementation preferred
  • Must be extremely detail oriented and have a high level of data entry accuracy
  • Must have the ability to identify and solve problems and be capable of handling highly confidential information
  • May be required to lift file boxes up to 25 lbs.
