Duane Morris LLP, a law firm with over 750 attorneys in offices across the U.S. and internationally, is currently seeking a Benefits Manager for its Philadelphia headquarters. The right candidate will be responsible for managing the development, administration and communication of benefits plans for the firm. Plans include: medical/dental/vision, basic and optional life, disability, employee assistance, 401(k), pension, transportation benefits, workers’ compensation and flexible spending accounts. Managing the activities of the Benefits Department staff and their related development and implementation of goals, policies, priorities and procedures. Develops and recommends changes/enhancements to programs/systems in response to changing organizational needs, governmental regulations/compliance, trends and prevailing practices at other organizations. Manages all processes related to open enrollment and new hire benefits orientation/enrollment. Responsible for the administration of COBRA.
Must possess a Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of eight years of progressive benefits related experience, including the management of a variety of benefits programs required, preferably within a professional services environment. Benefits courses/CEBS designation required.
Knowledge of ERISA, DOL and IRS regulations governing benefits programs required. Strong analytical, modeling and problem solving skills, including the ability to establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to assess situations and apply practical knowledge to provide effective business solutions. Experience with Human Resources Information System (HRIS) required. Strong knowledge of related employment laws/regulations and financial reporting/concepts required. Outstanding verbal, written and customer service skills. Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills necessary to communicate and interact with a diverse group of contacts and provide information with ordinary courtesy and tact. Team orientation required.
