JMT has an exciting opportunity for a Benefits Specialist in our growing HR department. This position will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following duties related to our Company benefits:

  • Oversee all benefits administration and resolve benefit related issues timely
  • Research, design, and maintain all Company benefits including our well-being initiative
  • Manage positive relationships with consultants, vendors, and carriers
  • Assist with the selection and implementation of benefits for organization
  • Interpret and enforce human resources policies, procedures, and best practices
  • Manage our unemployment process
  • Assist with Health and Safety programs including Workers’ Compensation
  • Manage our communication, event planning, promotion and education
  • Manage all compliance aspects in accordance with federal and state regulations
  • Review and process invoices for payment
  • Lead open enrollment activities
  • Analyze reporting on programs offered and make recommendations based on data received
  • Perform additional duties as assigned

 

Requirements

Required Skills

Required Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related discipline
  • Minimum of 5 years of benefits administration experience
  • Knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations, filing and compliance requirements such as, ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, ADA, SECTION 125, Workers Compensation, Medicare, and Social Security and Department of Labor requirements

Qualifications Preferred

  • Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) preferred
  • Proficient with Ultimate Software (UltiPro) preferred
  • Experience with self-insured benefits program preferred

Working Conditions

Work is performed within a general office environment. Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment. Some travel may be required during busy season of Open Enrollment.
