Position Description:

A global and growing manufacturing company based in Metro Detroit is seeking a talented and enthusiastic professional for an opportunity within our Corporate Benefits team.  This position involves administering employee benefits and recommending benefit improvements.


Responsibilities:

  • Analyze, prepare, and submit billing of Third Party Administrators
  • Create internal reports of benefits costs
  • Assist administering leaves of absence (including FMLA, STD, LTD, ADAAA)
  • Process 401(k) related items (general questions, loans, distributions, withdrawals, pay-offs, rollovers, QDROs, and files)
  • Complete on-going maintenance, improvement, and testing of internal HRIS (SAP), as well as carrier interface integration
  • Assist with the annual Open Enrollment process
  • Resolve manufacturing locations’ HR questions and problems by interpreting benefit policies/procedures and obtaining guidance from consultants/carriers when necessary
  • Collaborate with internal departments to coordinate benefit-related matters
  • Oversee day-to-day responsibilities of direct reports
  • Provide recommendations for benefit programs
  • Assist the Department with any other miscellaneous duties

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of benefits administration experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related degree required
  • PHR/SHRM-CP certification preferred, but not required
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to communicate across many levels
  • Able to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Able to work independently and produce results
  • Solid analytical, planning, and organization skills
  • Ability to travel 3-4 weeks annually
  • Ability to lift, pull, and push up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for up to 4 hours
