Required Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have:

Earned masters degree at the time of application;

Demonstrated leadership managing the implementation of diversity, inclusion, equity, and/or access initiatives in an organizational setting using strong skills to envision, conceptualize, and articulate the diversity, inclusion, equity, and access goals and strategies;

Demonstrated administrative leadership experience developing strong working relationships with senior leaders using clear understanding of the contexts, cultures, and organizational dynamics within an organization;

Supervisory experience combined with current and historical knowledge related to issues of nondiscrimination, access, and equity;

Direct experience developing and delivering employee training programs;

Demonstrated knowledge of how various forms of institutional data can be used to benchmark and support strategic planning and compliance initiatives and reporting; and

Experience providing advice, guidance, and oversight in recruitment and selection and conducting equity reviews of selection decisions by hiring managers

Preferred Qualifications:
Earned doctoral degree or J.D. degree at the time of application;

Current or recent higher education experience as Chief Diversity Officer and/or Title IX Coordinator at a masters or doctoral granting institution;

Demonstrated expertise and/or knowledge in EEO and general employment law;

Demonstrated expertise and/or knowledge of Title IX and Title VII laws and guidance;

Certification as Title IX Coordinator and/or Title IX Investigator;

Strong Interpersonal Skills;

Mediation training, certification and/or experience;

Investigation training and/or experience;

Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing;

Demonstrated ability to effectively lead a team toward the achievement of goals

Job Description:
Texas State University invites applications and nominations for the position of Chief Diversity Officer, Title IX Coordinator, and Director of Equity and Access, a senior-level leader who reports directly to the Special Assistant to the President, and provides guidance to the President's Cabinet

Job Duties:
Provide leadership and management of the implementation of diversity and inclusion strategic plan and provide counsel to senior university administrative management on diversity, inclusion, equity, and access issues, including ADA guidelines;

Provide guidance and advice to university leadership by conceptualizing, articulating the

diversity and inclusion mission of Texas State University, providing relevant data, and organizing and participating in an Annual Diversity and Inclusion Assessment Meeting;

Chair the University Equity and Access Committee (Diversity Council) which serves in an advisory capacity making recommendations to university leadership regarding strategic planning for diversity and inclusion, monitoring progress toward goals, and dissemination internal grant funding to support diversity, inclusion, equity, and access initiatives;

Work closely with senior leaders to support progress towards diversity and inclusion goals of the university;

Develop and deliver related employee training programs and prevention and educational training for the university community;

Access institutional data to benchmark and support diversity and inclusion strategic planning and compliance with university policy, administrative rules, regulations, local, state, and federal law;

Advise and provide oversight in recruitment and selection processes and conducting equity reviews of selection decisions by hiring managers;

Serve as the Title IX Coordinator and Chair the Title IX Collaborative which is responsible for oversight, advice, and support for the Texas State Title IX initiative which supports the Universitys commitment to provide a safe and secure learning and working environment

Manage the Title IX and Title VII compliance requirements by reviewing, investigating, and tracking and resolving Title VII and Title IX allegations of discrimination;

Providing and coordinating professional development training and executive recruitment activities, including on-campus EEO and diversity and inclusion training for faculty and staff;

Complete the university, state, and federal reports and monitoring university policies on diversity, inclusion, equity, and access;

Reviewing and providing updates to university policies and procedures for compliance with diversity, inclusion, equity, and access requirements.

Completing university, state, and federal reports and monitoring university policies on diversity, inclusion, equity, and access, including reporting requirements under Executive Order 11246 and the Office of Federal Contract Compliance Program; and

Management and supervision of the staff in the Office of Equity and Access
