Franklin & Marshall College is seeking an outstanding, strategic human resources leader who is an expert in the field of higher education and passionate about leading a transformative HR unit. The CHRO focuses on driving HR strategy to foster a culture that enables all faculty and professional staff to do meaningful, impactful work at the highest level. The CHRO is a valued member of the leadership team and proactively recommends, implements, and evaluates strategies and plans to Senior Staff that will assure that the College attains its objectives related to the employee resources of the College. The CHRO fully understands the business needs, drivers, strategies, goals, and expectations of the College and its partners.  The successful candidate will rely on their experience in higher education and best practices within the field, to collaborate with and influence a diverse group of faculty and professional staff.  

The CHRO is responsible for oversight and administration of all HR services and functions, including staffing (planning, recruitment, and hiring and retention of professional staff), compensation and benefits, legal compliance and development of policies, professional development, performance management, employee communications pertaining to HR issues, and employee relations.

The CHRO leads the HR staff in the delivery of comprehensive HR services in alignment with the strategies and mission of the College.  The CHRO demonstrates progressive management values and standards, supporting the development and sense of shared direction and purpose for the HR staff.   As such, the CHRO exhibits the highest degree of personal integrity, ethics, and emotional intelligence, and develops the same values within the HR staff.
