BerryDunn has partnered with Spectrum Medical Group; a large multi-specialty physician practice located in Portland, Maine, to present a new opportunity for an experienced and savvy, team-oriented CHRO. Spectrum is a growing, private practice, 100% physician directed entity that currently includes over 220 physician specialists focused on quality delivery of patient care with a commitment to excellence and professionalism. Reporting to the CEO and working closely with the physician constituted Board, the CHRO will be charged with developing and executing human resources strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of Spectrum, specifically in the areas of succession planning, talent and performance management, organizational and change management, training and development, and benefits and compensation. As part of the executive team the successful candidate Must exhibit strong critical thinking, financial acumen and be accustomed to a fast paced, ever-evolving environment, with the ability to function well under pressure.
As a member of the Executive Leadership Team, the Chief HR Officer will be responsible for major operational and strategic decisions and performance of all HR programs affecting the organization. This includes:
Human Resources functions that effectively communicate and support Spectrum's mission and strategic vision.
Talent acquisition strategies (recruiting, on-boarding and retention of staff)
Leadership associated with physician employee relations and engagement.
Culture definition and implementation encouraging employee engagement and satisfaction.
Human Resource department promotion, marketing and employer branding.
HR strategies and vision to achieve business results for short and long-term future organizational goals.
Business advisor to the executive/senior management of each business unit or specialty group regarding key organizational and management issues.
Management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the organization; incorporating Leadership development and training
Recruiting, organizational and reporting structures, and staffing and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of strategic goals.
Comprehensive compensation and benefits plans that are competitive and cost-effective for the organization.
Performance management systems and metrics for success
Compliance and risk management
Bachelor’s degree in HR Management, Organizational Development, Business Administration or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred.
Proven operational experience in management and staff supervision: ideally has worked in a management role for 10+ years and has strong generalist human resource experience at the senior leadership level. Health care and/or Physician Practice experience a plus.
Extensive experience with change management and transitioning of organizations, including partnerships, affiliations and merger-acquisitions.
Proven business acumen.
Experience building strong HR teams.
Strong emotional intelligence and relationship building.
SHRM or HRCI certifications.
