The Human Capital team of the D. E. Shaw group seeks a bright, highly motivated Compensation and Benefits Associate. The Associate's duties will include formulating offer recommendations,  participating in annual compensation surveys, and assisting with the yearend compensation process.  This individual will also focus on the firm's benefit plans, including administration of domestic and international health and welfare benefits, open enrollment planning and execution, compliance with firm policies and government regulations, and management of benefits data and workflow within the HRIS.  The Associate will work with employees to address their benefits questions, liaise with brokers and insurers, conduct benchmarking, and maintain summary plan documents.  This individual will be expected to identify opportunities for system and process improvements while ensuring the highest quality and accuracy of information.

The ideal candidate will have between 4 - 6 years of compensation and benefits experience, knowledge of and interest in the changing legal and regulatory landscape, and proficiency in Excel, HRIS maintenance, and Cognos (or a similar reporting tool).  Successful candidates will exercise the utmost discretion while working with highly confidential information and will possess keen attention to detail, exceptional analytical and communication skills, the ability to execute under pressure, and a client-focused approach.  This position affords the opportunity to join a global team of human capital professionals in a dynamic, collegial work environment.  This position will report directly to the Head of Compensation and Benefits.

Shaw group do not discriminate in employment matters on the basis of race, color, religion, gender, pregnancy, national origin, age, military service eligibility, veteran status, sexual orientation, marital status, disability, or any other category protected by law. Note that for us, this is more than just a legal boilerplate. We are genuinely committed to these principles, which form an important part of our corporate culture, and are eager to hear from extraordinarily well qualified individuals having a wide range of backgrounds and personal characteristics.
