This organization operates a medical service organization, which coordinates care through a network of 27 independent physician associations and over 2,900 primary care physicians. Additionally, it operates two Medicare Advantage plans, the Island’s only NCQA-accredited health plans, which serve 200,000 members on the Island with a network of more than 7,500 providers.


Recently it acquired the Medicare Advantage contracts of another entity in Puerto Rico, covering approximately 27,000 beneficiaries and representing approximately $166 million in annual premium revenue.

The organization has diversified itself by entering Medicaid in Puerto Rico, providing Medicaid coverage for 300,000 individuals in the Island’s Southeast and Northeast regions.

 

POSITION SUMMARY

InnovaCare is seeking a very qualified Corporate Human Resource Executive with extensive leadership experience in the area of managed care.

The corporate human resource (CHR) is responsible for developing and executing human resource strategy in support of the overall business plan and strategic direction of the organization, specifically in the areas of succession planning, talent management, change management, organizational and performance management, training and development, and compensation. The CHR provides strategic leadership by articulating HR needs and plans to the executive management team, shareholders and the board of directors.

  1. Establish & implement HR efforts that effectively communicate and support the firm's mission and strategic vision.
  2. Develop HR plans and strategies to support the achievement of the overall business operations objectives.
  3. Function as a strategic business advisor to the executive/senior management of each business unit or specialty group regarding key organizational and management issues.
  4. Work with the firm's executive management to establish a sound plan of management succession that corresponds to the strategy and objectives of the firm. 
  5. Develop comprehensive strategic recruiting and retention plans to meet the human capital needs of strategic goals.
  6. Develop and implement comprehensive compensation and benefits plans that are competitive and cost-effective for the firm.
  7. Provide overall leadership and guidance to the HR function by overseeing talent acquisition, career development, succession planning, retention, training, leadership development, compensation and benefits globally.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position is directly responsible for leading managers of the division and indirectly responsible for all employees within the division.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

Travel

Travel as appropriate to implement strategic HR initiatives, approximately 15-25%.

Required Education and Experience

  1. A BS/BA degree from an accredited college/university.
  2. A minimum of 8+ years of HR experience, with at least five years of executive HR experience and at least five years of international HR experience.
  3. Experience in Managed Care.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. MBA or MA/MS in human resources or related field.
  2. SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification.
  3. Managed Care experience.
