Job Details

Jupiter Medical Center
Jupiter, Florida
Director of Human Resources

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented HR generalist to make a positive impact on the growth of Jupiter Medical Center by developing and implementing HR initiatives to fully support the organization, optimize seasonal fluctuations and continue to promote outstanding employee satisfaction.  Jupiter enjoys a rich endowment from its foundation -- and the medical center is entering into a significant growth phase, which will be a fun challenge for an HR professional who enjoys building and leading in a fast paced environment.

Jupiter Medical Center (JMC) is a not-for-profit 327-bed regional medical center consisting of 207 private, acute-care hospital beds and 120 long-term care, sub-acute rehabilitation and hospice beds.  Founded in 1979, JMC has approximately 1,700 full-time team members, 615 physicians and 634 volunteers.  Jupiter Medical Center continues to perform in the top 10 percent of hospitals for patient quality and satisfaction.  JMC earned four stars under the ratings awarded by The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the highest rating of any hospital in Palm Beach or Martin counties.  JMC also placed in the top 12 percent of facilities in Florida and in the top tier of hospitals rated across the country.

The Director of Human Resourcesis a highly visible leadership role, reporting to a dynamic CHRO and working closely with other system leaders, administrators and staff.  Managing a team of 10 professionals, the Director will oversee recruitment, retention, compensation, benefits, organizational development, learning, employee health, employee recognition and HRIS, along with legal, regulatory and Joint Commission compliance.  The Director will play a key support role in ensuring that HR policies, procedures, tactics and methods are communicated and implemented properly and consistently throughout the organization at all stages of the team member life cycle.

Jupiter, Florida is a beautiful beach town located on the sunny southern coast of Florida in Palm Beach County.  The community is rich in history and offers a variety of outdoor recreation, sports and water activities, fine dining, fabulous shopping, beautiful homes and an excellent school district.

Cost of Living:  Florida does not have a State income tax.   When looking at real estate outside of the high net worth areas, Jupiter is a very affordable and attractive place to live.

Requirements

The ideal candidate has a minimum of five years of HR generalist experience within a free-standing hospital environment and must have experience managing Joint Commission evaluations.  The selected candidate will have a thorough understanding of federal, state and local human resources-related regulations. He or She is able to communicate effectively with all levels of leadership and employees, both in oral and written form.

The successful candidate will possess professional certifications or designations such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, SPHR, PHR or CCP.  A master’s degree is preferred.
