Job Details

Mercer Advisors, an independent registered investment advisor with offices nationwide, is seeking a Director of Human Resources.  Our growing organization is seeking an HR professional with the vision and leadership skills to build our HR infrastructure and manage our talent needs.  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 7 to 10 years in an HR leadership role with experience in a variety of areas including employee relations, performance management, succession planning, recruitment, compensation and benefits.   

 

Essential Job Functions for the Director, Human Resources will include:

  • Planning, developing, reviewing and implementing HR policies and procedures
  • Leading and effectively managing the activities of the Human Resources department
  • Consulting with members of the Executive Team on key HR issues, priorities and initiatives
  • Creating measures, metrics and reporting tools to manage the company’s talent development
  • Conducting annual salary surveys and assisting in performance evaluation/compensation programs
  • Providing leadership, counsel and best practices to managers in the areas of employee relations and performance management while ensuring all employment decisions are in compliance with Federal, State, and local labor laws and legal requirements
  • Monitoring compliance with EEO regulations
  • Keeping abreast of trends and developments in the area of employee benefits and recommending enhancements to company benefit packages
  • Administering workers’ compensation claims
  • Tracking COBRA notification for termed employees
  • Overseeing administration of the company’s payroll function
  • Developing a records management program for employment related documents
  • Performing other duties as assigned

 

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field
  • Prior leadership experience in an HR function is required
  • Ideal candidate will have attained the SPHR designation
  • Experience with exempt and non-exempt recruitment
  • Good knowledge of human resource principles and Federal, State and local labor laws/legal requirements
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

 

Working Conditions: Professional office environment. Working inside. Standing and sitting. Will be assigned to a workstation. No heavy lifting over 10 lbs.
