Chariot is building the world’s first profitable mass transit service. Sound exciting? We're looking for a Director of Global People Operations whose mission it will be to make Chariot a place where amazing people can do the best work of their career. Our goal is to build a world-class People Operations team, and as its leader, you will be instrumental in helping us scale the company and making a permanent impression on our culture.

You'll be a champion of Chariot's mission and values, partnering with the Executive Team to help them build, retain and reward their teams. Whether coaching managers on how to lead their teams, navigating and resolving employee relations issues or managing programs that help develop our teammates, you are exceptionally focused on putting them first. All decisions will be data-driven, and you will be as transparent as possible to help our team understand how people decisions get made.



  • Build and scale our HR processes as we grow from 30 to 100+ office employees and 300+ Charioteers (Chariot drivers) across multiple locations globally over the next 18 months
  • Create Chariot's performance review and goal-setting processes for employees
  • Develop and communicate progressive and proactive compensation and benefits programs to provide motivation, incentives and rewards for effective performance
  • Partner with Executive Team to design and build organizational capability to deliver against Chariot's strategic goals and objectives
  • Develop and implement practices and programs that retain and develop the best possible talent in the marketplace
  • Evaluate current benefits strategy; propose HR initiative programs that will serve as a catalyst in motivating our workforce
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant employment laws and regulations in all locations in which Chariot operates
  • Serve as escalation point for all employee relations
  • Monitor the company’s cultural environment and proactively address issues
  • Partner with Talent team to ensure we are attracting top talent



  • 7+ years of HR experience. Preference for candidates who have ramped a startup from 30 to 400+ employees
  • Experience working in an environment with blue collar workers is essential
  • Expert understanding of labor laws, compensation, benefits, organizational development, employee relations, and training and development
  • Experience managing and implementing HR systems
  • Excellent project management skills with a proven ability to design and implement people strategy that drives business results
  • Proven ability to influence and drive change with executive teams
  • Highly effective interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience working across global teams
  • A high level of integrity
  • An analytical approach to problems
