FLSA STATUS: Exempt

SUMMARY: Manages all human resource matters regarding personnel within the firm. This may include, but is not limited to, administration of the process of hiring, assignment, supervision, training, evaluation, discipline, termination, salary and bonus administration and maintenance of human resource records.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Evaluate and coordinate staffing needs
Recruit and determine offers for non-exempt personnel
Assist with recruiting of exempt personnel.
Develop and update new hire orientation program; conduct orientation.
Conduct exit interviews.
Administer annual non-exempt staff evaluations.
Maintain employee files and other HR documentation.
Participate in the development of firm wide policies and procedures.
Manage personnel insurance plans – review and verify monthly invoices; verify proper payroll withholdings; COBRA administration.
Participate in insurance plan annual bids and selection.
Maintain CLE records.
Create and implement legal assistant training programs.
Maintain parking records, issue garage pass cards and reconcile monthly invoice.
Oversee annual associate evaluation program.
Manage staffing due to legal assistant absences/vacations/work loads.
Participate in staff meetings (re: HR related).
Supervise payroll specialist; serve as backup, when needed.
Review and approve all non-exempt payroll in eTime.
Facilitate and attend Legal Personnel Committee meetings; prepare minutes.
Schedule and coordinate interviews for candidates interviewing in all offices.
Prepare and post relevant recruiting adds
Approve PTO leave for non-exempt staff.
Establish annual salary recommendations with Director of Administration.
Conduct annual employee reviews
Provide employee dispute resolution
Member of Disaster Recovery Team
Review and update Office Procedures Manual
Prepare revisions to Personnel Policy Manuals
Other duties as assigned

Requirements

REQUIREMENTS:

Strong knowledge of employment laws; comprehensive knowledge and experience in administration of benefits, payroll and policy design and implementation
5+ years HR lead and/or supervisor experience required
Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources or related field; A PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certification is preferred
Professional services experience is a plus
