Position: The Director of Human Resources – CA is responsible for overall HR management of our Los Gatos and San Francisco sites.

 

 

 

Nature of Role: Reporting to the President, XimedicaDx, the Director of HR - CA plans, directs, and coordinates human resource management activities for Ximedica’s California sites to maximize the strategic use of human resources and maintain functions such as employee development, compensation & benefits, training, recruitment, personnel policies, and regulatory compliance.

 

 

  • Strategic Management
    • Monitor the legislative and regulatory environment for proposed changes and their potential impact to the organization, taking appropriate proactive steps to support, modify, or oppose the proposed changes
    • Establish strategic relationships with key individuals in the organization to influence organizational decision making
    • Develop and execute strategies for managing organizational change that balance the expectations and needs of the organization, its employees, and all other stakeholders
    • Act as the CA cultural steward to reinforce the organization’s core values and behavioral expectations through modeling, communication, and coaching

 

  • Workforce Planning, Recruitment and Employment
    • Ensure that workforce planning and employment activities are compliant with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations as well as aligned with Ximedica’s Quality System’s standard operating procedures
    • Partner with corporate HR to identify internal and external recruitment sources and implement selected recruitment methods as well as carry out selection procedures, including applicant tracking, scheduling, interviewing, and reference/background checking
    • Collaborate with corporate HR to evaluate and continuously improve retention strategies and practices
    • Act as administrative project manager of systems upgrades, migrations, and implementations relative to acquisition integrations and continuous improvements

 

 

 

  • Human Resource Development
    • Collaborate with corporate HR department to develop/select and implement employee training programs to increase individual and organizational effectiveness
    • Evaluate effectiveness of employee training programs using metrics
    • Collaborate with corporate HR to coordinate and drive the performance appraisal process
    • Partner with corporate HR and functional department heads to plan and roll out clear succession plans

 

  • Total Rewards
    • Ensure that compensation and benefits programs are compliant with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations
    • Develop, implement, and evaluate compensation policies/programs and pay structures based upon internal equity and external market conditions that support the organization’s strategic goals, objectives, and values
    • Administrate benefit programs that support the organization’s strategic goals, objectives and values as a Destination Employer (health/welfare, retirement, wellness, time-off, etc.)
    • Maintain, enhance, and update employee handbooks to reflect federal, state, and local laws for all offices

 

  • Employee Relations
    • Ensure that employee and labor relations activities are compliant with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations
    • Assess organizational climate by obtaining employee input
    • Implement organizational change activities as appropriate in response to employee feedback with the support of the local and corporate executive team
    • Administer and evaluate grievance/dispute resolution and performance improvement policies and procedures

 

  • Risk Management
    • Ensure that workplace health, safety, security, and privacy activities are compliant with applicable federal, state, and local laws and regulations
    • Identify the organization’s safety program needs and ensure OSHA standards are upheld
    • Communicate and train the workforce on the plans and policies to protect employees and other individuals, and to minimize the organization’s loss and liability
    • Evaluate, monitor and provide input on the business continuity and disaster recovery plans, particularly relative to CA ordinances

 

Requirements

Requirement: Discreet, flexible, dependable, intelligent, detail-oriented, energetic self-starter with strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills. The successful candidate will have a proven ability to multi-task and work independently in a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment. The position requires a minimum of 10 years of experience in human resources role, ideally in both start-up and corporate environments. The growth of our company requires that we have effective processes and procedures in all operations. Pivotal to our success will be the Director of HR’s ability to develop and maintain structures that have some degree of flexibility as each of our projects offer new and unique challenges needing accommodation. Additional qualifications are as follows:

 

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required and an advanced degree and/or SPHR (CA) certifications are preferred
  • Must be able to cope with conflicting points of view and to function under pressure
  • Demonstrate discretion, integrity, fair-mindedness, and a persuasive, congenial personality
  • Experience as an HR Business Partner to a highly technical employee population
