Director of Human Resources

This is a newly created position with an established, privately owned business (under 100 employees).   They are seeking a self-motivated Human Resources professional to develop, implement, and manage HR Infrastructure and Practices that contribute to the overall strategy and objectives of the company.

The ideal candidate is someone who has experience building HR as a one-person HR Department  - an individual with operational and strategic experience coupled with a roll-up-your-sleeves and get-it-done attitude.  He/she should understand the business impact of Human Resources and have experience and be comfortable in developing and carrying out compliant HR programs with friendly, yet professional enthusiasm.


Under general supervision of the company Owner, responsibilities of the Director of Human Resources include, but are not limited to:


  • Recruiting/Staffing

  • Culture and Organization Design/Change Management

  • Management and Career Development/Succession Planning

  • Employee Relations

  • HR Policy/Strategy - HR Infrastructure Design and Implementation

  • HR Legal Compliance

This hands-on position should be able to initiate pro-active change and manage reactive results.  Excellent professional communication skills (written and verbal) with the ability to collaborate and communicate with candidates and employees at all levels is a must.


This position requires a bachelor’s degree in human resources or related discipline, and a minimum of 5 years of work experience as an HR Generalist/Manager.
