EVF Management is currently assisting a luxury hotel client in their search for an experienced Human Resources professional to join their dynamic Executive Committee Team.  The Director of Human Resources works closely with the General Manager, Executive Committee and Owners to create and support the hotel's vision and mission. Overseeing the HR function which  is responsible for managing all recruitment, hiring, benefits, training, labor and employee relations. Positioning the property as one of the leading luxury hotels in the city, requires an unwavering commitment to ensure the hotel is hiring the best talent and retaining that talent  through innovative communication forums, comprehensive training, and the creation of a  work environment that encourages and supports collaboration, enthusiasm and a commitment to accepting nothing less than excellence.

Job Duties

The Director of Human Resources is responsible for the following:

  • Direct the daily administration and management of the Human Resources function within the property.
  • Develop and administer the employment, professional development, compensation/benefits and employee/labor relations practices for the hotel
  • Ensure the property is in  compliance with all local, state, and federal laws and regulations
  • Recruit, interview, train, supervise, counsel, schedule and evaluate team members
  • Manage the financial aspects of the department's budget
  • Create and promote a pro-employee culture within the hotel, leading by example and providing guidance and support to all employees, both management and hou
  • Administer leave of absence/FMLA paperwork and communication
  • Conduct investigations and ensure compliance with company policies
  • Other duties as assigned


Job Requirements 

  • 5+ years of Human Resources Management experience required
  • Strong learning and development background, focus on standards, Forbes and AAA
  • Union experience an asset
  • Experience in a hotel environment preferred
  • Degree in HR or SPHR/ PHR Certification with experience preferred
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
