Job Details

Greenwood Industries Inc. is seeking a Director of Human Resources for our Worcester headquarters location.  With more than 400 union and non-union employees, Greenwood Industries is ranked as the #1 commercial roofing company in total revenues in New England and #12 in the United States.  Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the successful candidate will develop and implement policy, process, and procedures as well as direct and coordinate all human resources activities, such as employment, employee relations, compensation planning and administration, benefits, and employee services.  Specific duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to:

  • Developing, implementing and directing all human resources administration and procedures for employment files, orientation, compensation, recruiting and staffing, and benefits administration.
  • Development of job descriptions to include compensation and job analysis to determine competitive market pay.
  • Administering performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance, and internal equity. 
  • Assisting senior management with the development and distribution of the annual bonus program.
  • Managing staffing to develop job postings and the applicant tracking system and assisting managers with interviewing and selection of qualified candidates.
  • Identifying and communicating local, state, and federal policies and legal directives affecting human resources and ensuring policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.
  • Reviewing and updating of Employee Policies to include employee policy handbook and training.
  • Investigating and working with management and employees to effectively and appropriately resolve employee relations issues.
  • Managing benefits open enrollment to included communication and administration and employee participation.
  • Maintaining employee records for all employment transactions such as hires, promotions, transfers, performance reviews, and terminations.
  • Acting as the subject matter expert and responding to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Successful completion of other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

The successful candidate will possess:

 

  • Bachelor Degree in Human Resources or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in human resources to include 3+ years’ experience in a Human Resources leadership position.
  • Strong understanding of core human resources functions in the areas of recruiting and staffing, employee relations, human resources administration, compensation, and benefits administration.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, project planning and implementation skills.
  • PHR certification with SPHR preferred.
  • Strong computer skills to include Microsoft Office.
