    Director of Organizational Development and Training

The Director Organizational Development & Training will lead the development, facilitation and management of organizational development, organizational effectiveness, and training across two client groups; US Commercial Business Unit (Sales) and Marketing. This role is primarily responsible for building the functional capabilities of our commercial and marketing organizations. This role will be partnering with internal customers and key stakeholders to assess and prioritize skills & capabilities needed for business success, and then lead the design, development, and facilitation of effective interventions aimed at closing identified individual, team, and organization – wide performance gaps across all levels of the organization.  As part of this and in partnership with our learning organization, they will design, deploy and embed a comprehensive training and development of curriculum for the client groups, including tools, processes, and sustainment plans.  This role will also lead and develop both the annual and long term training plan for each client group and will ensure linkage and measurement to the enterprise-wide learning and development strategy and strategic business plans. This role will have matrix reporting relationship to Sr. Director Learning and Internal Communications.

 

What you will do:

Design, develop, and implement an integrated training plan, and organizational development. This will include but not limited to:

  • Diagnosing the organization’s critical skills and capabilities needs

  • Developing continuous improvement strategies to meet business objectives

  • Develop and deliver training programs for the development of sales and marketing professionals

  • For client groups, lead the development and implementation of career progression experience

  • Aligned to the business strategy develop individual training and organizational training plans using gap assessments and establish clear criteria to measure and evaluate sales performance aligned to the sales competency model.

  • Coach leaders and employees on development planning, effective on-boarding processes, in partnership with HR Business partners

  • Work with corporate learning to support the development of an integrated business and leadership development curriculum. This would be the knowledge all leaders need to know about how are business works

  • Establish key metrics and analytics to facilitate strategic decisions and to measure ROI impact of our training and development programs and approaches.

  • Create and track appropriate evaluation tools, metrics, and statistics on the results of organizational development and training

  • Carry out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's values, policies and applicable laws

  • Accountable for communication, interviewing and hiring, training employees; planning, assigning and directing work, leveraging team and individual strengths, managing performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and solving problems to ensure high performance results

Requirements

What you must have:

  • Undergraduate degree in Business or Human Resources; prefer graduate degree from a top-tier school required

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in organizational development and training in a CPG organization is strongly preferred

  • Experience supporting a Sales Capability or Function is required

  • Experience in developing and executing training and development processes aligned to business strategy with emphasis on sales and marketing functions

  • Knowledge of the following areas: organizational consulting, training, coaching, project management

  • Prefer proven track record of developing functional content in sales/marketing area

  • Superior communications and influence skills

  • Critical thinking skills

  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere

  • Demonstrated people motivation and development skills

  • Ability to travel 25% of the time (domestic travel)

  • Ability to uphold safety standards, participate in continuous process improvement on the job, and follow our manufacturing best practices

  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities

  • Ability to follow KGM policies and procedures as well as uphold our Purpose and Values
