METER Group, Inc. USA is seeking a Director of People Operations to oversee the People Operations (HR) function. This is a pivotal role in thoughtfully growing with exceptional talent. Working closely with the Executive Committee, the Director of People Operations will develop strategies and tools to acquire future key talent, increase performance both individually and organizationally, decrease organizational risk, and ensure all employees have the tools and support to succeed in our fast-paced workplace.

This individual will oversee a People Operations (HR) department currently consisting of a Benefits Specialist, Employee Relations Specialist, and a Talent Acquisition Specialist. This individual will report to the VP of Finance and be responsible for all people operations activities throughout the employment lifecycle at METER.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the People Operations Department and interfaces with all departments and business units providing management coaching and other employee related services across the organization.  
  • Evaluates, modifies and/or implements best of class recruitment and on-boarding processes.
  • Implements best of class performance measurement and feedback process.
  • Analyzes people data to advise the Executive Committee on business decisions.
  • Reduces legal risks through pro-active management training and ensures processes meet regulatory requirements.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in partnership with key stakeholders to develop solutions, programs and policies.
  • Maintains HR systems and processes and looks for process improvements.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues and conducts thorough investigations that are well documented.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant People Ops/HR experience with 2+ years managing a team.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification.
  • Strong general HR experience with at least two specialties in either staffing, development/training, compensation, benefits, safety and health, or employee relations.
  • Strong business and people acumen, as well as the ability to influence business leaders at the executive level.
  • Strong communications skills with the ability to flex between authoritative, decisive, and sympathetic voices depending on circumstances.
  • Proven ability to build scalable HR Programs in a complex global and matrix business environment.
  • Analytical skills with ability to identify systems' strengths and weaknesses, and drive for continuous improvement.
  • Experience with hiring foreign candidates including understanding of the H1B visa sponsorship process.
  • Strong people analytics skills including HRIS administration experience.
  • Experience with succession planning, replacement planning, and organizational development.
  • Willingness to roll up your sleeves and do both tactical and strategic work.
  • Background check results satisfactory to METER.
  • Strong professional references.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or Certified Benefits Professional (CBP) through World At Work.
  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification.
  • Global HR experience.
  • HR experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience with the BambooHR HRIS.
