More specifically, even during the period of the recession in 2009 we continued to bring in cash and distributions to our owners. We are looking for an experience Compensation Professional who can design compensation incentive plans to continue to help drive our growth and manage the on-going challenges retail companies are facing around state and federal changes in compensation and paid time off.


The position is responsible for compensation plan design for hourly, salaried and incentive plans. This leader will develop short-term and long term incentives to drive business results for operations, sales and corporate functions. As a compensation expert, the individual will need be familiar with the recent changes in regulations and laws both on a Federal and State Level. More specifically, this role will need to understand the various overtime issues that have been proposed by the DOL and impacts in a retail based hourly environment. This individual will manage a team and will be expected to have previous supervisory experience and/or proven strengths as a leader.

• Incentive Plan Administration – Short Term and Long Term Incentives

• Compliance & Regulation

• Designing compensation alternatives and strategies in a union negotiation environment

• Compensation Strategy and Framework Based upon Business Model

• Long Term Executive Compensation Strategies in Publically Owned Company


• Business-oriented mindset

• Advanced knowledge in use of Excel

• Strong communication and presentation skills to explain complex compensation frameworks in a simplified manner to Sr. Management or BOD

• Excellent relationship-building skills, both internally and externally

• Ability to multi-task and project plan

• Expertise with HRIS systems to utilize and gather data, reports, etc.

• Strong demonstration of customer service orientation

• Advanced written and verbal communication to communicate to various levels

• Strong leadership experience


• Bachelor’s degree

• Advanced degree (i.e., MBA) preferred

• Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation desirable


The qualified candidate for this position will be paid a competitive base salary, which will be influenced in part by the relevant experience that they bring to the position as well as their growth potential.
