JOB SUMMARY:

The Director, Relationship Management for Geisinger Northeast, is responsible for overseeing the Relationship Management/HR operations in the Northeast region of Geisinger. Specifically, the Director will be responsible for aligning the goals and objectives of the Relationship Management group at Geisinger Community Medical Center, Geisinger Wyoming Valley, Mountain View Care Center and Marworth. This Relationship Management department provides services to approximately 6000 employees and includes two Registered Nurse bargaining units

The Director, Relationship Management GNE, will lead a group of 9 staff members and will report to the Vice President, Relationship Management, Human Resources

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. * Responsible for HR operational activities and functions in the Northeast
  2. * Leads and supports operations in focusing on the relationship with employees and physicians. Coaches leaders in providing feedback and managing performance
  3. * Implements, supports, and monitors employee relations practices and educational programs to foster and maintain a positive climate
  4. * Assists in developing and implementing labor relations strategies and tactics. Provides day to day mediation, facilitation and guidance on bargaining unit issues including discipline, grievance resolution, arbitration, etc
  5. * Supports the overall operation and growth of the northeast, in conjunction with campus leadership
  6. * Monitors employment practices in accordance with Geisinger Health System policies to assure record keeping and EEO or Affirmative Action compliance
  7. * Develops, implements, and maintains compensation and incentive programs to support the organizational structure as well as reward individual performance. Coordinates formal activities and programs with the Director of Compensation
  8. * Promotes practices and procedures that develop and maintain diversity. Coordinates formal activities and programs with the Director of Diversity
  9. * Develops employee recognition practices to encourage growth, recognition and retention
  10. * Provides direction to management in the development and evaluation of performance management objectives
  11. * Assesses needs for training and organizational development. Coordinates, develops and/or conducts programs in conjunction with Organizational Development and Training
  12. * Evaluates regularly the effectiveness of the HR practices and procedures and implements changes as necessary to promote strategic and operational effectiveness, and maintain consistency within the system
  13. * Evaluates, monitors, and benchmarks HR metrics (e.g., new hires, open positions, turnover rate, employee satisfaction)
  14. Develops and maintains effective liaison with management and employees
  15. Performs other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

The successful candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Human Resource Management or related field. Master's Degree preferred. Professional Certification preferred. Minimum of five (5) years' experience required in a functional area of Human Resources including Employee Relations, Organizational Development, Employment, Talent Management preferably in a large health system. A minimum of 3 year's leadership experience required. Knowledge/experience in labor relations preferred

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work is typically performed in an office environment, as well as settings throughout the

system and surrounding communities. Independent travel to the sites required
