Starting Salary Range: $51,100-$75,000/annually. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience

Under the direction of the ELR Assistant Manager or designee, the Employee Relations Analyst independently provides high level professional analysis, consultation, coaching and training to campus clients on organizational development, strategic planning, policy and regulatory compliance, interpretation and application of labor contracts, and resolution of workplace problems. Works collaboratively and establishes highly effective working relationships with clients, campus constituents, and union representatives. Provide campus advocacy and representation on employee and/or labor relations matters with a focus on employee relations

Selected candidate will be required to pass a criminal history background check

Ability to work occasional nights and weekends

Ability to work long periods of time at a computer with or without accommodation

Ability to travel to multiple locations on and off campus to attend meetings, functions, and training

Per the Child Abuse Neglect and Reporting Act (CANRA), this position has been identified as a Mandated Reporter. The selected candidate will be required to report known or suspected child abuse or neglect as defined by CANRA and will be required to sign a Statement Acknowledging Requirement to Report Child Abuse prior to commencing employment.

Current work-site is UCSC Scotts Valley Center at 100 Enterprise Way, Scotts Valley, CA

Qualifications include:

Bachelors' degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training

Advanced skills to coach management through conflict resolution, performance management, corrective action, progressive discipline, and just cause in public employment

Demonstrated experience with conflict resolution with the ability to handle very difficult or volatile situations / individuals effectively

Demonstrated experience with applying employee relations specific concepts and knowledge of employee relations practices and programs

Thorough knowledge of organizational policies and procedures; knowledge of functional area and understands how work impacts other areas
