Position: EQUAL EMPLOYMENT COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST II

Salary: $52,532 Annually

Department: Human Resources/Fair Employment Programs

Location: 100 Australian Avenue, WPB

Hours: 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., Monday Friday

Other: Valid Florida Driver's License and PBC Risk Management Department driving history approval prior to appointment

Professional work in the Fair Employment Programs Section of Human Resources investigating and analyzing complaints of employment discrimination. Responsible for ensuring equal opportunity in employment for groups protected by federal, state, and local laws. Work requires the employee to exercise a high degree of independent judgment and initiative in the enforcement of policy, programming, and procedures. Duties include disseminating Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) and job information, investigating complaints of discrimination and conducting adverse impact studies. Work is performed under the general direction of the Fair Employment Programs Manager and is reviewed through conferences, reports and observation of results achieved

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences, Business/Public Administration, Education or related; minimum of three (3) years of professional experience working with equal opportunity issues including complaint investigation/conciliation Equivalencies: Unrelated Bachelor's Degree and four (4) years of related experience OR related Associate's Degree and six (6) years of related experience

PREFERENCE FOR ONE (1) YEAR OF EXPERIENCE: Conducting management and employee training; developing/implementing EEO/Affirmative Action Programs; responding to the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC)/Florida Commission on Human Relations (FCHR) charges of discrimination
