Raytheon has an exciting opportunity for a thought leader in Talent Development to join our award winning team. Reporting to the Global Talent Development Leader for Raytheon’s Integrated Defense Systems Business, you’ll be part of an HR Center of Excellence accountable for empowering our global workforce to achieve their individual career aspirations while they make the world a safer place. Working closely with senior leaders and HR peers across the company, you will drive succession planning, conduct meaningful career coaching of our high potentials, identify talent for key positions, and build strategic programs that ready our high potential talent for the challenges of today and tomorrow.

Areas of Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: 

  • Manage and drive the annual succession planning process, talent reviews, and high potential identification across the IDS business.
  • Build leadership capability by 1:1 coaching of emerging, mid-level, and senior leaders.
  • Create effective development plans for high potential leaders through 1:1 coaching discussions and application of leadership assessment tools.
  • Work with peers at corporate and across Raytheon to identify and rotate talent based on deep understanding of the individual’s aspirations, development needs, and suitability.
  • Work directly with senior executives and HR peers to design and lead programs that build a strong and diverse talent pipeline for key roles.
  • Educate HR business partners on Raytheon’s Talent Development programs and philosophy to ensure optimal program understanding and effective use of processes and practices.
  • Accelerate new external leader transitions by leveraging proven onboard practices.


Required Skills:  

  • Strong Talent Development /Human Resource experience, including demonstrated experience delivering talent development programs in group and 1:1 formats, experience with succession planning processes, coaching, and project management. 
  • Ability to influence peers, colleagues and executives to promote ideas while building relationships.
  • Ability to multi-task and work within all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to navigate in a matrixed organization.
  • Demonstrated evidence of negotiation and effective project management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with positive attitude and ‘can do’ orientation.
  • Strong partnership abilities; able to drive projects to closure.
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present views and data in a clear and compelling manner.


Desired Skills:  

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or a related field.
  • Knowledge/certification in Hay, Hogan, and similar assessment processes a plus
  • Professional experience in applied organizational effectiveness and change management, including leadership in large, complex, global organizations.
  • Experience establishing talent programs outside the U.S.
  • Proven ability to work in a global environment, worked outside of the US a plus.


Required Education (including Major):  

  • 10 years of experience with Bachelors’ degree or 8 years of experience with Master’s degree in one of the following areas: Organizational Development, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Human Resources, Business.
