HR & Benefits Specialist, Liberty Corner Office

Becht Engineering Co., Inc. provides expert consulting services to the energy sector (including oil refineries, chemical plants and power plants), worldwide. We are currently looking for a bright and motivated HR Coordinator to join our team in our Liberty Corner headquarters (Bernardsville Township), New Jersey. The HR Coordinator will report to the VP, Finance and HR.

We are searching for someone who wants to grow professionally, has a positive can-do attitude, and enjoys working collaboratively. This position is pivotal because it will maintain accurate benefit and employee records while also being able to think openly and freely both with employees and their concerns. The successful candidate should excel in time management, prioritization, critical thinking, and have great attention to detail.


Ensure and check accuracy of employee and benefit records

Responsible for the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, AFLAC, flexible spending plan, 401(k) plan).

Assist employees with benefit questions from new hire orientation through helping with claims/paperwork

Assist with the annual open enrollment process; Investigate new benefits programs

Reconcile benefit provider invoices while checking for new hires and terminations

Ensure the payroll deductions are accurate and timely

Assists with maintaining affirmative action program (AAP); files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations

Participate in various HR projects, development initiatives, and roll out of new or revised HR programs Support managers with advice and recommendations on HR activities and programs.

Write and place advertisements

Assist with rewriting job descriptions

Assist with exit interviews

Education, Experience & Skills and Specifications

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business or related fields

Minimum 5 years’ experience

Ability to speak, write and read the English language

Able to work alone on a broad variety of projects.

Medium proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.
