POSITION SUMMARY:

The Human Resources (HR) Business Partner serves as a liaison between the assigned business unit(s) and the Human Resources Department. This position works directly with management and employees to define the HR needs and objectives of the business unit(s) and collaborates with the HR leadership team to determine the best ways to achieve them. The HR Business Partner administers various HR plans and procedures and ensures the property maintains compliance with all corporate, federal and state employment requirements. The HR Business Partner supports the Property culture to align with its’ individual brand while also supporting the One Company Culture of MGM Resorts International. All duties are performed in accordance with property and MGM Resorts policies, practices and procedures.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

• Serves as the liaison between assigned business unit(s) and the Human Resources Department; partners with business leaders to identify their HR needs and objectives and collaborates with the HR leadership teams at the property and/or corporate to meet those objectives;

• Administers various human resources plans and procedures for all employees; assists in the development and implementation of human resources policies and procedures; updates the employee handbook as appropriate, and ensures that all documents are accessible and posted as required;

• Conducts employee relations counseling and outplacement counseling as appropriate; conducts exit interviews and provides turnover reports and analysis, including recommendations based on findings;

• Recommends new approaches and/or procedural changes to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and the services performed;

• Maintains compliance with federal, state, county, and city regulations concerning employment;

• Acts as the primary liaison to the Corporate HR Compliance Department and completes all reporting documents as required; monitors compliance training requirements to ensure that employees complete assigned training;

• Collaborates with and builds relationships across functional divisions, Corporate Entities, properties and key external stakeholders.

• Assists in developing organizational strategies by identifying and researching human resources issues; contributing information, analysis, and recommendations to property strategic thinking and direction; and supporting human resources objectives in line with organizational objectives.

• Must use discretion when working with confidential information.

• Ability to maintain physical stamina and proper mental attitude.

• Must be able to communicate effectively in English, in both written and oral forms

Requirements

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a similar field or equivalent education and experience• Three to five years of human resources experience as a Generalist or related experience

Preferred:

• Prior Hospitality experience• Prior Employee and/or Labor Relations experience• WorkDay or other SAS software experience

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

• SPHR (Senior Professional in Human Resources) certification preferred.• Mediation Training preferred
