We're looking for a knowledgeable, hands-on Human Resources professional to work in our collaborative manufacturing and office environment to provide expert level HR service and support to management and associates. While reporting functionally to the Director NNA HR, located in Cranberry Township, PA and geographically to the Director Operational Excellence (OPEX) NNA Detection in Lake Forest, CA, you'll be responsible for HR Management activities for the General Monitors (GM) US facilities located in Lake Forest and Corona, CA as well as Field roles. Departments represented at these locations include Operations, NPD and R&D Engineering, Sales, Finance, and other administrative functions. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing duties related to policies and compliance, employee relations, recruitment, training and benefits. Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide organizational consultation and HR needs assessment to management in all functional areas of HR, utilizing other internal/external HR subject matter experts as appropriate, such as Compensation, Communications, Benefits, Talent Management, HRIS, etc
  • Review, investigate and respond to all levels of employee relations concerns
  • Review, develop and propose HR related policies
  • Coach management and associates on organizational design/change
  • Guide the recruiting function, including developing position requirements, evaluating and approving requisitions, screening and interviewing candidates, new-hire orientation, and other on-boarding and termination activities. Serve as recruiter for hourly positions
  • Conduct headcount and attrition planning activities based on production forecasts, turnover trends, etc
  • Facilitate HR services at the site level, including training and development programs, engagement surveys, etc. Conduct and ensure the effectiveness of programs (localized or corporate initiative rollouts)
  • Advise managers and associates on development efforts regarding performance management and succession management coaching. Coordinate site succession planning activities;
  • Serve as site AAP compliance officer for plan, data generation, monitoring, and performance against goals
  • Evaluate and provide recommendations towards disciplinary actions to ensure consistent application of plant rules of conduct and disciplinary action for associates
  • Administer restructuring and headcount adjustment activities
  • Participate and support various safety programs such as the Safety Committee, evacuation drills, safety training, liaise with OSHA and third party administrator for WC claims adjudication
  • Provide oversight and partner with Corporate based Occupational Health Nurse on WC claims management, disability leave management, FMLA, ADA, etc. Partner with Corporate based benefits team as needed and third party administrator for health and wellness program initiatives, providing local oversight for programs
  • Serve as site liaison for time and attendance and other payroll related matters
  • Up to 10% travel expected

Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:

  • Advanced knowledge of HR functions, regulations, processes, policies and guidelines, including California specific employment laws
  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Excellent organization and time management skills to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail
  • Ability to build strong partnerships
  • Demonstrated project management (for Level III and Senior)

Education and experience required:

This position is available at three different career levels depending on experience, education, etc

  • Level II:
    • 3 or more years HR related experience and Bachelors degree in HR, business or related field
    • or 5 or more years HR related experience and related Associate's degree
    • or 7 or more years HR related experience and relevant certification
  • Level III:
    • 5 or more years HR related experience and Bachelors degree in HR, business or related field
    • or 7 or more years HR related experience and related Associate's degree
    • or 7 or more years HR related experience and relevant certification
  • Sr Level:
    • 8 years HR related experience and Bachelors degree in HR, business or related field

Education and experience preferred:

  • All levels
    • Knowledge of SAP or other HRIS systems
    • HR experience in a manufacturing environment
    • Experience in safety, benefits and other HR functions
    • PHRca certification
  • Level II:
    • PHR/SPHR or SHRM-CP/SHRM-SCP certification
  • Level III/Sr:
    • Master's degree in related field or MBA
    • SPHR or SHRM-SCP
