JOB DESCRIPTION

Summary/Objective

The human resource manager is directly responsible for the administration and coordination of the human resource function. In support of a geographically dispersed small company expanding into new markets and new locations, this role will manage the full employee life cycle with a significant focus on recruiting and on-boarding. 

Essential Functions

  1. Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt, nonexempt and temporary workers; writes and places advertisements; works with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; conducts reference checking; extends job offers; conducts new-employee orientations; monitors career-path program and conducts exit interviews.
  2. Develops and administers various human resources plan and procedures for all company personnel.
  3. Plans and organizes activities of the department. Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems.
  4. Performs benefits administration to include claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, annual re-evaluation of policies for cost-effectiveness, information activities program and cash flow.
  5. Develops and maintains affirmative action program; files EEO-1 annually; maintains other records, reports and logs to conform to EEO regulations.
  6. Establishes and maintains department records and reports. Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings, such as seminars.
  7. Maintains organizational charts and employee directory.
  8. Evaluates reports, decisions and results of department initiatives in relation to established goals. Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of department and services performed.
  9. Ensures compliance with all federal, state and local employment laws.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

Requirements

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. This position regularly requires long hours and weekend work.

Travel

Travel is required to various locations within the CONUS.

Required Education and Experience

A bachelor's degree and five years of human resource experience, or nine years of experience in the HR field.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  1. SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential; or
  2. Certified HRCI Professional Human Resources (PHR)
