As the HRBP you will be key to building the NEW HR Business Partner function!  To do this, we need you – that rare mix of a business strategist who is people passionate.  We need your strong experience in partnering with business lines to develop people strategies and programs will be vital to drive the achievement of business that support people success to make us the employer of choice.

In this critical role you have the opportunity to help to create and maintain the strategic direction for people programs that support business line objectives, organizational goals and values, and HR philosophies.  Your experience in supporting and collaborating with executives and business leaders in the development and execution of people strategies will be invaluable in this role.  In addition, your high energy, enthusiasm and team player approach is essential as the primary point of contact between the business line and the HR Centers of Excellence (COEs) – to ensure the seamless execution of people programs. 

Under the general direction of the Director, People Success and Rewards, this is a highly visible role where you will have the opportunity to make an impact to the organization’s mission and values and objectives and most importantly, its people.

Highlights of Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with division heads to understand, recommend, and implement people strategies and act as a driver for strategic change on all people related initiatives.
  • Provide expertise, guidance and coaching for managing highly sensitive and complex HR related matters.
  • With a true hands-on approach, help to build and maintain a culture that reflects the Bank’s core values and behaviors and maintain a high level of employee morale and full engagement; monitor the “pulse” of the employees on satisfaction.
  • Identifying and partnering with HR COEs, recruiting, learning & development, employee relations, etc. whenever appropriate.
  • Proactively analyze and identify complex people issues and trends. Recommend solutions and execute appropriate actions. 
  • Coach leaders in appropriate people management best practices, i.e. recruiting, performance management, discipline, reward & recognition and exit strategies and insure seamless connection with/to HR experts 
  • Act as a change agent related to all people related initiatives.
  • Mentor other less experienced HRBPs.
  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly build collaborative working relationships and trust with senior level executives. 
  • Possess a thorough understanding of business strategy and HR business practices including workforce development; organizational structure and design; change management and employee relations.

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources or related field
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in a strategic Human Resources role, working directly with senior level management
  • Experience managing a business function or operation with demonstrated ability to effectively manage people and people strategies 
  • Strong concentration in organizational change, development and design
  • Strong solutions focus and be comfortable working in an environment which demands strong deliverables along with the ability to identify problems and drive appropriate solutions
  • Experience working with a diverse staff of both non-exempt & exempt employees within complex matrixed business line 
  • Demonstrated ability to exercise strong judgment with sensitive/confidential issues
  • Strong coaching, conflict resolution, relationship and team building skills with the demonstrated ability to influence and engage at all levels of an organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills to include: demonstrated ability to communicate complex issues succinctly; create and conduct effective presentations; experience building strong client relationships while exercising negotiating skills to achieve desired results
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment laws and standard 
  • Strong internal and external customer service focus
  • Excellent priority setting and project/time management skills with the flexibility and adaptability to respond to shifting business needs - orientated on result 
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and act tactical 
  • Bias for action and collaboration, strong hands-on work ethic and desire to achieve excellence
  • Passion for innovative HR solutions and processes
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or a Green Card holder with the intent to become a U.S. Citizen
  • Some travel required
