Job Details

The HR Business Partner is a senior HR role in QIAGEN. The role actively develops and implements the people strategy in the respective Business Area (BA), as well as driving projects in organizational development and governance. They collaborate on all strategic HR matters in the BA with the respective QIAGEN Executive Committee (EC) member, and broader HR organization, in the development and implementation of these plans. It re-quires in depth knowledge of the business, a cross functional understanding of the whole organization and an inter-cultural experience. A transformational leadership style is very important in order to successful empower and inspire colleagues within the organization.

- Serves as the primary point of contact to the EC/Business Leader of the respective BA, and their direct reports
- Develops and executes the HR agenda with the EC member and direct reports to drive performance and achieves business objectives.
- Collaborates closely with Regional HR Operations, Centers of Competence and Shared Service colleagues to implement policies, initiatives, plans, and programs.
- Guides BA leadership on a variety of activities, including Employee Relations, Recruiting, Compensation & Benefits, Performance Management, Employee Development, Retention and Change Management, HR related M&A and PMI activities etc. and drives implementation of related tools and processes into the BA
- Works closely with the BA leadership as a trusted advisor to identify the current and future HR needs of the business.
- Perform both hands-on and strategic roles, while managing complex relationships, competing priorities and cultural norms that occur among such diverse groups.
- Assesses the need for talent in relation to the current and future business, including the need for specific competencies, knowledge, skills and experiences on mid to top level.
- Collaborates with and manages HR projects of large scope as well as cooperate with relevant interfaces (HR and non-HR).
- Drives continuous improvement of department’s processes and leads change to improve the company’s capabilities.
- Coaches, mentors and provides feedback to the leadership team to improve individual and organizational performance.
- Monitors and reviews workforce data to identify staffing risks and issues as well as opportunities for future improvement.

 

 

Requirements

- Excellent knowledge in key HR areas (such as Operational HR, Compensation & Benefits, Recruiting, Talent Management, Organizational Design, Training & Development, Policy, M&A and PMI etc.).
- A minimum of 5 years of progressive experience as a HR Business Partner, or in a leadership advisory capacity, in a rapidly changing business environment (multinational corporation in the life sciences arena would be preferred).
- A minimum of 3-5 years leadership, and/or cross-functional influence experience, ideally with exposure to roles beyond HR.
- Extensive track record in project management and change leadership.
- Familiarity with labor policy and social security law.
- Strong knowledge of productivity tools and HR applications (e.g., SAP, Lumesse, …).
- Fluent in English and German.
