The HR Director will report directly to the Executive Pastor, and oversee the HR Associate and others. This position is exempt and considered full time at 30 hrs/wk and includes full benefits. The Human Resources Director is responsible for developing and enhancing HR programs, policies, and practices that equip and empower staff to use their giftedness and skills in achieving ministry objectives. This position oversees the HR functions of employment, compensation, benefits, employee relations, training and development, and performance management. They serve as a strategic partner to senior management regarding organizational structure and effectiveness in alignment with Bellevue Presbyterian Church's vision and strategic goals.


KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

 Directs and leads the planning, development, implementation, and administration of human resources programs and policies.

 Analyzes and modifies compensation and benefits programs to establish competitive programs and to ensure internal equity and legal compliance.

 Partners with and coaches managers on performance management issues, including delivering ongoing coaching and feedback, addressing performance issues, administering corrective action/disciplinary procedures and handling employment terminations.

 Develops and manages the HR budget.

 Ensures organization has a clear understanding of organization competencies and values to create a strong cohesive culture and work environment where God’s love is experienced and shared.

 Identifies and creates employee initiatives to support morale and organizational culture.

 Oversees staff recruitment and selection process to include educating managers on hiring practices and assisting in hiring for key positions.

 Advocates for staff in work-related issues while balancing needs/requirements of the organization.

 Oversees the performance management system and develops system enhancements that help build a work culture focused on agility and excellence.

 Oversees employee training and professional development programs.

 Ensures organizational compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.

 Supervises HR Associate and HR volunteers.

 Member of the HR Committee to include agenda creation and reporting of HR deliverables and measurables.

 Collaborates with staff, managers, Congregation, and community partners as needed to support all areas which impact the HR needs of the church.

 


Requirements

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

 7+ years HR generalist experience with proven experience in leadership role; SHRM-SCP preferred but not required 

 Personal faith in Jesus Christ and a commitment to the mission of Bellevue Presbyterian Church with a particular passion for human resources

 Character, call, and availability to fulfill needs of job description

 Ability to thrive in a fast paced environment

 Exceptional understanding of people, organizations, and how they achieve excellence

 Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

 Ability to problem solve and think creatively

 Experience with organizational development preferred

EDUCATION/TRAINING:

 Bachelor’s degree preferred
