Job Details

The HR Director is responsible for directing and overseeing the affairs and personnel in the company's Human Resources Department and shall be directly responsible for the following:

  • Recruitment and Hiring
  • All Company benefits including Health, Life, LTD Insurance, Transit and Section 125, PTO and 401 K plans
  • Personnel Policies governing expected employee behaviors and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations
  • Timely Government reporting for all HR related matters
  • Onboarding new hires
  • Procedures for promotions, transfers, performance reviews and terminations
  • Knowledge of industry personnel and compensation trends
  • Compliance with federal, state, local and foreign legislation and regulation pertaining to all personnel matters.
  • Advice and recommendations to Executive Management regarding any performance review and wage, salary, bonus or incentive program
  • Implementation and oversight of Company performance review process
  • Exit interviews
  • Consultation with legal counsel as appropriate, or as directed by Management, on personnel matters.
  • Advice and recommendations to Executive Management, Company Directors and Managers regarding personnel matters, opportunities and/or problems as they may arise
  • Advice and recommendations regarding  staff development and training
  • Maintenance of a HRIS that meets the organization's personnel information needs.
  • Preparation of reports for Management with recommendations to resolve any identified HR matter including absenteeism and turnover.
  • Work closely with Controller on Company payroll functions
  • Supervises the staff of the human resource department.

  • Thorough and current knowledge of NY, NJ and CA laws affecting human resources and payroll administration
  • Immigration and Global experience a plus

  • Good reasoning abilities.  Sound judgment
  • Excellent communication skills; both oral and written
  • Resourceful and well organized

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor’s degree and minimum five years related experience:  PHR or SPHR certification desirable.
