Job Details

Gateways Hospital and Mental Health Center located in Los Angeles, is a non-profit organization that provides an array of comprehensive mental health services for Children, Adolescents, Transitional Aged Youth, and Adults suffering from mental illness in the Greater Los Angeles area. The organization consists of a standalone fifty five (55) bed hospital and seven outlying outpatient facilities that have anywhere from fourteen (14) beds to one hundred and forty (140) beds. The organization has approximately four hundred (400) employees.

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR. The HUMAN RESOURCES DIRECTOR is responsible for the oversight of the organization’s all human resources functions including recruitment and retention, compensation and benefit administration, labor/ employee relations, labor compliance, staff development and policy/ procedure development. The HR Director will have three direct reports.

Requirements

  • Five (5) years progressive, generalist experience in all aspects of Human Resources management, with two (2) years in a management or executive level position in a healthcare environment.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration or related field. SPHR preferred

  • Working knowledge of state/federal labor laws and regulations

  • Experience in a represented (union) environment – labor relations, grievance handling and contract negotiations

  • Experience with HRIS and timekeeping systems

  • Experience with Total Compensation/ Rewarding systems

  • Experience developing and implementing efficient HR procedures

  • Above average knowledge off Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written

  • Excellent organizational skills

  • Capacity to work effectively both independently and in a team setting
