About the company: The Body Shop is a British cosmetic skin care and perfume company that was founded in 1976 by Dame Anita Roddick. It currently has a range of 1,000 products which it sells in 3,000 franchised stores internationally in 66 countries. 

Purpose of role:

Responsible for supporting business strategy by providing HR excellence for employee relations, training and development, retention and recruitment, succession planning, and organizational design. This position will contribute to, and execute the long term HR strategic vision aligning with HR partners globally.

• Recruitment - Define and implement strategic vision for candidate selection. Ensure that best practice interview techniques are in use.

• Onboarding/Integration - Refine integration process to reflect best practices.

• Employee development - Anticipate organizational changes and business needs for client group, strategically

manage, customize and provide counsel to all employees for professional growth.

• Succession planning - Manage Succession Planning and movement of talent both within the US and globally. Identify high potential talent, oversee career-pathing and management development.

• Organizational effectiveness - Influence and help adapt the organization to align with business objectives and design and optimize organizational capabilities.

• Workforce planning - Lead optimization and reorganization efforts.

• Retention strategies - Create and champion employee retention programs.

• Employee relations - Enforce workplace policy, including conducting investigations and recommend a course of action.

• HR policies & programs and initiatives- Lead development, communication and implementation of strategic HR programs. Lead HR initiatives (i.e. integration of a new business, culture change initiative, function/business unit coordination, integration program, etc.), including training managers to deliver key HR messages.

•Budget management – Manage personnel costs and expense budget.



  • §  Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Organizational Design or related field (required).
  • §  Minimum of 7-10 years professional experience in Human Resources, preferably with a portion in Retail

Competencies required:

Strategic thinking - In-depth knowledge of HR best practices and trends.

Business acumen - In-depth knowledge of business objectives, the people aspect of brand, category, retail dynamics, competitors, market trends and consumers.

Change management - Ability to communicate and mobilize teams through change.

Compensation - Management expertise.

Legal - Excellent understanding of laws and statutes pertaining to equal opportunity employment, ADA, FMLA, OFCCP, Wage and Hour, WARN, Employment Agreements, etc.

Financial knowledge - Allocates resources, maximizes investments and increases efficiency.
