Job Details

The Director, Human Resources will be responsible all of the human capital management, policies and procedures and overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource functions across the organization including compliance with all relevant labor laws and regulatory compliance. The Director, Human Resources is responsible for all recruitment functions and ongoing development of a superior workforce. The candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills and possess the ability to build strong relationships throughout the organization and effective management of the HR team with specific measurable metrics. Specific responsibilities include the following:

  • Building and management of a capable and effective HR team
  • Management of all recruiting and staffing functions of the organization
  • Insure compliance with all labor laws and regulatory authorities
  • Implement and oversee employee orientation, development, and training programs
  • Develop performance management, compensation and benefit programs
  • Oversee compensation and benefit plan administration
  • Develop employee policies and procedures and insure compliance
  • Responsible for enterprise-wide employee relations including Union plans

Requirements

 

Desired Education, Experience and Skills

  • Education
    • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or a related area of study is required
    • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP Preferred
  • Experience
    • A minimum of 10 years of relevant Human Resources experience at a director level with organizations employing over 2,000 employees
    • Previous experience effectively managing recruiting and staffing functions based on objective measurement metrics
    • Extensive hands-on management of day-to-day legal matters with knowledge of current labor laws including wage and hour compliance, FMLA, discrimination and disciplinary actions
    • Experience with evaluation and implementation of HR information systems to effectively manage, measure and track all human capital functions and plans
    • Selection and negotiation of benefit plans and contracts including Union plans
  • Skills/Competencies
    • Proven track record of effective leadership and management skills
    • Exceptional interpersonal skills
    • Strong written, verbal communication and information system skills
    • Ability to handle any employee investigations and manage sensitive HR issues effectively
    • Ability to multi-task and prioritize in a dynamic environment with competing  priorities
    • Highly organized with detail oriented
    • High level of professionalism and ethical business practices
