HR Disability Case Manager

In this role, you will serve as the primary contact for employees seeking reasonable accommodation through the Interactive Process. You will identify opportunities for employees to use the Transitional Work Program through the disability case management process. Other responsibilities include consulting with management, employees, legal counsel, and union representatives regarding HR compliance and Disability Management regulations to ensure policies are applied accurately and consistently to meet state and federal laws, Kaiser Permanente policies and collective bargaining agreements; assisting in the creation of plans that promote and enforce HR compliance programs; and providing training to managers on compliance and disability related policies. In addition, you will evaluate, manage, and consult for compliance on HR-related standards for hospital accreditation, licensing surveys, and disability management programs as well as participate in regulatory survey activities to ensure compliance standards are met.

 

Qualifications Include:

  • At least two years of experience in human resources, disability management, HR compliance, or related compliance work experience; four years of experience is preferred
  • A bachelor’s degree or at least four years of experience in a directly related field with a high school diploma or GED
  • A valid California driver’s license
  • Demonstrated experience managing cases involving the interactive process
  • Demonstrated through work experience content expert knowledge of state and federal disability laws to include: ADA, FEHA, FMLA, CRFA, PDL, and workers’ compensation
  • The ability to consult regarding confidential and complex issues
  • Excellent, effective written and verbal communication, consulting, interpersonal and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively create and facilitate collaboration amongst diverse groups, people, and professional disciplines
  • The ability to work in a Labor/Management environment

 

Manager, HR Disability Consulting

In this role, you will provide leadership in evaluating and managing industrial and non-industrial injury and illness cases for designated area. In collaboration with the HR Business Partner, the HR Disability Group Leader, other Managers, HR Disability Consulting, and other HR professionals, you will ensure regulatory requirements relating to disability are applied consistently across the region.

 

Qualifications Include:

  • At least five years of Human Resources experience
  • At least one year of supervisory experience
  • A bachelor’s degree in business administration or human resources or four years of experience in a directly related field with a high school diploma or GED
  • Certified Professional in Disability management (CPDM) or the ability to obtain within one year of hire
  • Extensive knowledge of Disability and Workers’ Compensation Laws
  • Significant knowledge in Labor Relations practices preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
  • Effective communication and presentation skills
  • Consulting and leadership skills
  • Proficient with PC applications
  • The ability to work in a Labor/Management Partnership environment

 

HR Compliance and Disability Coordinator

San Jose – Job #642283

 

In this role, you will work in conjunction with designated leadership by maintaining and communicating effective Human Resources compliance and disability management programs. You will identify and escalate major risk concerns related to HR standards for hospital accreditation, licensing surveys, and Kaiser Permanente policies to meet state and federal laws as well as provide accurate and timely data entry of information into multiple databases. In addition, you will create basic level reports, graphs and spreadsheets for managers and provide basic level data analysis support for HR compliance and disability management related information.

 

Qualifications Include:

  • At least two years of administrative work experience
  • A high school diploma or GED
  • A valid California driver’s license
  • The ability to respond to management inquiries and assemble confidential/sensitive information
  • Advanced customer service skills required to communicate effectively with facility leadership, department management, and employees
  • Proficient with software used by the department (ie: MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Lotus Notes)
  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated good interpersonal, presentation, and critical thinking skills
  • The ability to effectively facilitate collaboration among diverse groups, people, and professional disciplines
  • The ability to work in a Labor/Management partnership environment

 

Preferred Qualifications Include:

  • Prior experience in a health care or regulatory environment
  • Experience working with process improvement projects
  • A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or other related field, or four years of experience in a directly related field strongly preferred
  • Business school/college level courses highly preferred
  • Demonstrated knowledge of applicable regulatory standards (i.e.: The Joint Commission, DHS, CAPS, CAL’s, HIPPA, FMLA, ADA, FEHA)
