Job Details

The mission of the Catholic Archdiocese of Washington is to spread the light of the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world.  In the faithful pursuit of this mission, the archdiocese is seeking a Human Resources Generalist for Recruitment.

The HR Generalist for Recruitment is responsible for supporting the Central Pastoral Administration by collaborating with Department managers through the recruiting, interviewing and hiring process.  The position is also responsible for supporting the hiring needs of the parishes and schools through posting positions on the archdiocese website and providing expert guidance on recruiting and hiring. Through a thorough knowledge of archdiocesan human resource policies and benefits, The HR Generalist will provide guidance to parish and school employees.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

The HR Generalist must be a practicing Catholic who supports the teachings of the Catholic Church. Demonstrated experience in all aspects of talent acquisition.  Outstanding human relation skills and ability to work well with others is required.  Must possess a demonstrated ability to effectively handle difficult situations.  Knowledge of Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS), UltiPro preferred.  Knowledge of Federal and state employment law.  Excellent written and oral communication skills.  Effective team player with strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills. Ability to handle multiple tasks under time sensitive deadlines.  Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information.   Proficiency in suite of Microsoft Office tools: Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.

Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, HR management or related field or an equivalent combination of education/experience required.  Society of Human Resource Management certification preferred.  5 or more years of experience in Human Resources is required.
