Job Details

Our organization is growing and we are looking for a strong team member to join our Human Resources team.  The position is a Generalist position; however, the focus of this position will be towards Talent Management.  The right person would be well-rounded in all HR functions and assist fellow team members as needed.  We are 550 strong globally and growing; we are fast-paced, our products are in demand, and we are a diverse workforce.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

Compliance:

  • Provides HR policy guidance and interpretation of employment laws; attention given to Equal Employment Laws
  • Lead administrator for EEO Reporting including EEO-1, VETS 4212; and other compliance reporting as required
  • Lead administrator for Affirmative Action Plan

Recruitment & Selection

  • Provides guidance and input on business unit restructures, workforce planning and succession planning; works with Director to determine supply and demand needs regarding personnel needs
  • Participates in job analysis exercises; review of job descriptions; and, coordination with team members to create a competitive recruitment and retention program
  • Creates requisitions, advertises jobs, reviews applications, interviews/screens and coordinates selection for exempt and non-exempt jobs
  • Works with hiring manager and Director to create offers of employment

Retention & Training

  • Lead HR representative for employee surveys
  • Works with the Director to identify, create, and implement retention strategies, including recognition programs, growth and promotional opportunities
  • Lead HR representative to ensure adequate training and resources are offered; positional training, compliance training, job enhancement training, etc.
  • Lead administrator for on-boarding programs; including creation and/or modification of existing programs
  • Lead HR representative in the administration of the Company’s internship program

Organizational Exits

  • Lead HR representative to manage exit programs; including, voluntary exits, involuntary exits, reduction in force, etc.
  • Serves as Lead HR representative for communications with the Departments of Labor and external agencies related to end of employment issues
  • Handles employee relations counseling, outplacement counseling and exit interviewing.

Employee Relations

  • Consults with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues. Conducts effective, thorough and objective investigations
  • Maintains in-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to day-to-day management of employees, reducing legal risks and ensuring regulatory compliance. Partners with the legal department as required. Works closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention
  • Responds to employee relation issues such as employee complaints, harassment allegations and civil rights complaints

Performance Management & Compensation

  • Participates in the design, modification, and implementation of the Company’s performance program
  • Participates in analysis and design of compensation strategies

Benefits & Leave Programs

  • Provides input into benefit and leave programs from a competitive perspective, as needed
  • General knowledge of benefit programs and retirement programs to assist in administration of plans

HRIS

  • Uses Company HRIS system to enhance HR programs and offerings
  • Facilitates employee training within the HRIS system when necessary
  • Maintains employee information within the system

Generalist Duties:

  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives and systems
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions and results of department in relation to established goals
  • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations
  • May absorb duties of HR team members when necessary

Requirements

  • Must be able to access shared database with government programs (U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident of the U.S.)
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related field; plus at least 5 years of experience in an HR Generalist capacity; emphasis in recruitment/ talent management preferred
  • HR Certification Institute or Society of Human Resources certification(s) preferred; PHR or SHRM-CP
  • High level ability to create presentations, charts, graphs and spreadsheets
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and strong decision-making capability in a variety of situations
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point)
