The HR Generalist performs duties at the professional level in some or all of the following functional areas: employee relations, training, benefits administration, affirmative action and employment law compliance, compensation, recruiting, on boarding and policy implementation.  This position requires a perceptive person who is capable of relating to individuals at all levels within the organization.  The generalist must be sensitive to employee goodwill and the business needs.

Essential Functions

  • Administers the compensation program; monitors the performance evaluation program and revises as necessary

  • Performs benefits administration, including claims resolutions, change reporting, approving invoices for payment, communicating benefits information to employees and compiles and processes ACA reporting

  • Administers COBRA for group health plans

  • Manages employee milestones, awards and recognition

  • Handles employee relations counseling, employee complaints, harassment allegations, exit interviewing and represents company in unemployment claims

  • Maintains human resource information system records and compile reports from the database

  • Maintains compliance with federal, state and local employment and benefits laws and regulations

  • Develop and administer training and development programs

  • Monitors absenteeism reports and ensures proper documentation is issued on employees who have excessive absenteeism problems. Reports vacation, sick, FMLA, personal leave use to payroll

  • Reports, maintains and monitors all worker’s compensation case files

  • Ensure company and employee resources are current and accurate; organizational chart. Job descriptions, handbook and policies

  • Develop programs that improve employee experience, benefits, wellness and engagement

Requirements

Required Education and Experience

  1. Bachelor's degree .
  2. Experience in the administration of benefits and compensation programs and other human resource programs.

Preferred Education and Experience

  1. Human resource experience in this industry.
  2. Three to five years of HR generalist experience.
