Job Details

  • Processes regular and supplemental semi-monthly payroll for all employees; performs complex payroll calculations; verifies information from relevant forms; audits, corrects and balances payroll and a variety of reports via ADP Workforce Now.
  • Process personnel changes; including pay increases, department transfers, position changes
  • Process involuntary deductions, such as garnishments and wage levies
  • Calculate and record payroll deductions
  • Maintains payroll information in compliance with record keeping requirements.
  • Keeps apprised of the payroll processing system and changes in wage and tax laws as well as corresponds with federal, state and local tax agencies on behalf of the College.
  • Calculates and processes manual checks as needed.
  • Process all adjunct and miscellaneous contracts
  • Compiles, prepares and maintains payroll reports.
  • Facilitates the yearly production of W-2’s and other accounting requirements.
  • Reconcile and prepares check requisitions for all HR invoices.
  • Coordinates College Work Study payments to students.
  • Process unemployment claims as well as federal and state surveys
  • Assists in recruitment efforts, benefits administration and employee relations
  • Administers benefit program including enrollments and terminations
  • Train employees on how to utilize ADP and Time and Attendance software
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education:        Bachelor’s Degree Human Resources Management, or a related field

 

Experience:       3-5 years office experience as an HR Generalist, customer service, problem resolution, payroll experience.

 

Skills:                Effective oral and written communication skills, excellent interpersonal skills, computer competency in MS Word, MS Excel and ADP Workforce Now.  Ability to work with highly sensitive and confidential information

 

Knowledge:       Good knowledge of College and departmental policies and procedures
