Tactical Air Support (a NV Corp) is seeking a Human Resource (HR) Generalist to join our rapidly growing team! You will perform human resources-related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: employee performance management, employee relations, employment legal compliance, policy administration, employee training, employee career development, employee administration, benefits management, employee on-boarding, recruitment, payroll processing, workplace respect, and employment equity.


  • Partners with employees and management to communicate human resource policies, procedures, laws, standards and other government regulations. 
  • Educates and coaches line management on company policies, work rules, and applicable federal and state regulations to ensure fair and consistent delivery of human resources practices and compliance with local labor agreements and company policies. 
  • Conducts exit interviews, analyzes data, and makes recommendations to the management team for policy and process corrective action, and continuous employee and business environment improvement.
  • Facilitates or provides training (including new-hire on-boarding orientation) to the workforce. 
  • Leads Employee Integration efforts managing the on-boarding process, follows up throughout employment as part of broader employee engagement initiatives and helps employee navigate at the end of their employment through meaningful exit interviewing and data management. 
  • Maintains and coordinates employee recognition programs.
  • Screens and recruits job applicants to fill entry-level, professional, and technical job openings. 
  • Reviews applications, manages the interview process, and assists managers to match experience with specific job-related requirements. 
  • Leads the talent acquisition process partnering with our business managers to develop and implement a company-wide recruiting strategy and staffing plan. Provides leadership and coaching to ensure effective implementation of this strategy.
  • Manages applicant tracking systems to update candidate and workflow status, communicate status to applicants, and ensure that all applicants (internal and external) have a positive experience with TacAir regardless of final hiring decision outcome.
  • Assists in managing benefits programs and associated data systems including 401k, health care insurance (medical, dental, and vision), workers compensation, short/long term disability, life insurance, and paid time off as implemented.
  • Assists in maintenance of working relationships with union officials and adheres to terms of labor contract by monitoring day-to-day implementation of policies concerning wages, hours and working conditions.
  • Assists in investigating, answering, and settling grievances and employee relationship issues by arranging and scheduling grievance hearings between union/non-union personnel, supervisors, and the management teams. 
  • Prepares EEO-1 and other federal and state data call information.
  • Identifies legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resource functions and ensure that policies, procedures and reporting are in compliance.
  • Partners with business managers to create, update, and maintain company job descriptions.
  • Maintains Human Resource Information System (HRIS) employee files within the current construct.  Expands on existing capability.
  • Consults with managers regarding organization changes, including promotions, transfers and leaves of absence by completing due diligence and processing changes.
  • Assists in responding to unemployment claims and verification of employment requests within applicable deadlines.
  • Prepares monthly and ad-hoc reports as requested.
  • Supports the semi-annual performance review process. 
  • Supports the annual employee performance bonus review process and assists with salary and pay data calls.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continuous improvement in the efficiency of the HR department and the services provided.
  • Participates in projects and conducts research that supports HR initiatives.
  • Develops and conducts employee engagement and HR associated surveys.
  • Performs other related duties as required or assigned.

Chief Staff Officer

Supervisory Responsibility:

This position currently has no supervision responsibilities.  As TacAir grows the opportunity to supervise a department may occur.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in an office setting.  Use of a virtual office space through Google for Work (G Suite) and GoTo Meeting is required.  May occasionally be required to perform duties in an aircraft hangar or warehouse environment due to the location of the office which may include exposure to loud noises, fumes of engines and chemicals, and trip or slip hazards. 

Tele-Work and Work from Home:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work from home or tele-work on occasion with supervisor approval.

Physical Demands:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers to handle, feel or operate objects, tools or controls, reach with hands and arms, and lift up to 10 pounds. The employee is frequently required to talk and hear. 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time exempt position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. through 5:00 p.m.

Flexible Work Schedule:

Through coordination with location employees the opportunity exists to work non-standard flexible work hours.


Travel to various work-sites throughout the U.S. is required (~ 10%).

Required Education and Experience:

  • Minimum High School Diploma or GED with 3-5 years human resources experience, or a recent HR College Graduate with at least 2-3 years of HR experience. 
  • Excellent computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment. Working knowledge of Excel, Word, HRIS systems, and HR record keeping.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, team, and interpersonal skills.
  • Must possess strong conflict resolution skills, and proven ability to apply techniques at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, organization, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of work and work independently or as a member of a team.
  • Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with company standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations or government law. 

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or better in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration or related discipline preferred.
  • Background in aviation related government contracting and other government compliance regulations. 
  • Background in military aviation.
  • Professional in Human Resources (PHR) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) certification or ability to obtain certification within 12 months.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable):

  • Eligibility for a U.S. government security clearance.
  • Completion and submission of a U.S. government I-9 form.
