Opportunity: We are seeking a Part Time HR Generalist to join our team! Listen and Talk, located in a quiet residential Seattle neighborhood, provides expertise in deaf education, early childhood education, speech language pathology and listening and spoken language approaches. Come join our dedicated, energetic and collaborative team as we help infants and children, who are deaf or hard of hearing, communicate and learn through listening and spoken language.

Summary: The Human Resources Generalist leads the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department and supports the full scope of human resources activities at Listen and Talk.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the full-cycle recruitment for all positions
  • Lead outreach to diverse organizations to develop recruiting relationships
  • Represent Listen and Talk as an HR representative
  • Manage new employee onboarding and orientation
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of annual employee equity and inclusion
  • Maintain all Human Resources records, ensuring documents are current, accurate, confidential, and in compliance with organization policies and government regulations
  • Develop and monitor the performance evaluation program for all employees
  • Create and maintain operational policies and procedures to comply with local, state and federal laws. Monitor annually.
  • Conduct annual review of job categories and compensation ranges
  • Administer and track paid time off requests
  • Train and advise managers to develop accurate and complete job descriptions for all positions
  • Serve as initial point-of-contact and resource for employees on HR policies, programs, and processes
  • Monitor and report compliance with federal, state, and local regulations concerning employment
  • Lead or support HR projects as assigned

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource, Organizational Development or related field

Experience: Three years of human resources experience, including at least one year of recruitment experience

Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong commitment to excellent internal and external customer service
  • In-depth knowledge of human resources law and policies
  • Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, and laws
  • Ability to research and analyze various types of data and develop meaningful results/recommendations
  • Strong project management experience, including excellent planning, prioritization, and organization skills
  • Highly collaborative and dedicated to working as part of a team
  • Committed to a high level of professionalism and confidentiality
  • Experience working with online personnel management platforms
