JOB TITLE:                   HRIS/Human Resources Manager

DEPARTMENT:             Human Resources

CLASSIFICATION:       Exempt    

TRAVEL:                      15 – 20% Annually

PRIMARY FUNCTION:The HRIS/Human Resources Manager is responsible for oversight of all aspects of local Human Resources and Health and Safety functions. This position has primary oversight of the centralized payroll function for multiple North American locations, recruitment and selection activities, benefits administration, legal compliance with federal and local statutes, talent development coordination.  The HRIS/Human Resources Manager is a strategic partner to the Plant Manager and local leadership team.

 RESPONSIBILITIES:

1)  Provides guidance and support to local leadership to foster an environment that promotes accountability, top performance, open communication and trust.

2)  Oversees functions of the Human Resource Information System (HRIS).

3)  Protects employee and payroll operations by keeping all information confidential.

4) Provides support for HRIS including, but not limited to, researching and resolving issues, unexpected results or process flaws; performs scheduled activities and recommends solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.

5)  Helps maintain data integrity and reports in systems by organizing and analyzing data.

6)  Implements an efficient and integrated strategy for recruitment and onboarding.

7)  Trains staff and new system users on new processes/functionality.

8)  Maintains payroll information by designing systems; directing the collection, calculation, and entering of data.

9) Provides overall direction for the centralized payroll function by reviewing and approving changes in exemptions, withholdings, promotions and bonus payouts.

10) Prepares reports by compiling summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions and leaves.

11) Determines payroll liabilities by approving the calculation of employee federal and state income and social security taxes, and employer's social security, unemployment, and workers compensation payments.

12) Balances the payroll accounts by resolving payroll discrepancies.

13) Maintains payroll guidelines by updating policies and procedures after approval.

14) Ensures working conditions are in compliance with health, safety and environmental policies and that these programs are fully implemented.

15)  Manages relations with local Team Members, including timely resolution of issues.

16) Serves as an active member of the site Safety Committee.

17)  Directs developmental learning and training through gap analysis of key positions, facilitation of in-plant education, and ongoing evaluation of training effectiveness.

18) Leads the design and delivery of employee relations programs designed to increase morale and to support the “union avoidance” culture of the organization.

19) Ensures that internal investigations are conducted fairly and within the parameters of the company’s legal responsibilities.

20) Leads budgetary preparations, reviews, and submissions for all human resources and health and safety items.

21) Monitors the corrective action/progressive discipline process to ensure that consistency and fairness is maintained.

22) Ensures the company is represented in local community/charitable programs.

23) Regularly evaluates Human Resources and Health and Safety strategies for effectiveness, facilitating any necessary changes coordination with local and company-wide leadership.

24) Retains and manages all Team Member files and adheres to retention standards established by the Company.

25) Performs work in accordance with TS16949 and ISO14001 standards

26) Performs other related duties as assigned

 REPORTING STRUCTURE:

The Human Resources/HRIS Manager reports directly to the Director of Human Resources and will oversee staff including a Payroll Specialist and Health & Safety Coordinator.

 QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

1)  Minimum five years of experience in a Human Resources management position

2)  Minimum five years of experience with ADP HRIS system including carrier EDI feeds

3) Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or equivalent level of job experience required

4) SPHR preferred but not mandatory

5) Strong knowledge of all relevant local and federal employment laws

6)  Health and Safety Program Management experience with success in reducing risk

7) Strategic-minded thinker and action-oriented performer

8) Excellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

9) Excellent negotiation and presentation skills

10) Some travel required to support other locations, conferences and seminars

11) Experience working in a union environment
