Job Details

The Human Resource Manager will direct the activities of the Human Resources Department which includes maintaining a safe working environment, an effective and engaged workforce, employment practices, union free environment, wage and salary administration, hiring procedures, training and development, safety, employee benefits, and workers' compensation. Assigned tasks include, but are not limited to:

Essential Duties

  • Direct activities of the Human Resources Department, including maintaining an effective stable workforce and employment practices.
  • Support strategic business initiatives for plant operations and HR corporate programs.
  • Direct employment activities and implement proper procedures to ensure that qualified candidates are recruited and hired.
  • Ensure the facility is in compliance with all Federal and State laws relating to such policies as EEO, FMLA, FLSA, Human Rights, ERISA, OSHA, etc.
  • Maintaining the work structure by updating job requirements and job descriptions for all positions.
  • Direct and control the daily functions of the department to achieve goals within budget.
  • Administer all employee benefit programs.
  • Ensures planning, monitoring, and appraisal of employee work results by training managers to coach and discipline employees; resolving employee grievances; and counseling employees and supervisors.
  • Initiate, direct and control new employee orientation processes and on-boarding.
  • Provide counsel and advice to all levels of the organization on human relations issues.
  • Maintain and control all personnel recordkeeping activities.
  • Administer the wage and salary program including performance evaluations.
  • Work in coordination with the Safety Committee to support environmental, health, and safety.
  • Advise managers on organizational policy matters such as equal employment opportunity and sexual harassment, and recommend needed changes
  • Direct all workers' compensation claims and develop procedures to limit liability.
  • Champion employee engagement, leadership development, and related training.


Required Competencies

Job Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business or related field. 5 - 7 years of Human Resource experience, with a minimum of two years or more in a supervisory position. Manufacturing experience strongly preferred. Experience with driving employee engagement and positive employee relations with all levels of employees. Proficiency with HR systems and processes, including payroll and benefits administration experience strongly preferred.
