The Human Resources (HR) Manager provides HR functional expertise and leadership to the global enterprise, with a specific regional (Americas) focus on building skills, capabilities and talent in the sales and marketing function. The role is accountable to provide input, expertise and leadership into the enterprise design and execution of people-related strategies and action plans that elevate the talent and capability of this global function to enable O-I to be successful in the pursuit of their strategic ambition of becoming a preferred supplier.

  • Contributes to the development of the HR strategy and is accountable for implementing action plans that elevate the talent capability of the regional sales and marketing talent, aligned with the overall talent strategies for the global function.
  • Ensure leaders are holding themselves and their teams accountable for living the O-I behaviors, by taking corrective action as well as identifying reinforcement opportunities for related behaviors.
  • Participation in a network of global HR business partners supporting Global Sales and Marketing
  • Serve as a business partner to the regional leaders and provides candid coaching on people related issues
  • Enables enterprise wide success by measuring and critically assessing performance, proactively identifying root cause and quickly implementing innovative solutions
  • Identifies the  need for an effective change management plan and engages resources as needed
  • Ensure compliance and alignment with relevant regulations and requirements pertaining to the management of HR to minimize risk and exposure to the company.
  • Accelerates the filling of open positions with fully capable talent, using the appropriate blend of internal promotions and external recruitment to satisfy near-term performance and build longer-term succession needs of the organization.
  • Leverages and maximizes all tools, technology and resources to develop talent; including O-I Centers of Excellence and functional and business team members.
  • Teams with other leaders across the HR function to maximize performance, lead change and grow talent.
  • Is regarded by the employees of O-I as a role model for their growth, development and conduct
  • Provide key performance indicators on talent acquisition, performance management, development, succession planning, remuneration and turnover.


Partners with leaders to execute related HR strategies designed to build and manage capabilities and talent across the regional and global functions, operating successfully a matrix environment.  This includes providing coaching and direction to leaders to definite and develop talent, including leveraging external recruitment opportunities.   Leads and orchestrates HR activities with regional sales and marketing leadership teams and their organizations and participates in the global HR function managing talent moves and driving consistency in instilling O-I values and behaviors and driving performance management



  • Bachelor’s degree in business, or human resources management. Master’s degree in business, human resources or a related field preferred.
  • 10+ years generalist experience. 
  • Experience leading change, action and results effectively
  • Successful experience creating and accelerating a high performance organization.
  • Implementing strategies and plans for a human resources function.
  • Attracting, developing and retaining outstanding talent.
  • Implementing successful employee relations strategies and programs.
  • Assesses the environment and successfully identifies opportunities and closes gaps to accelerate business performance
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated successful implementation of plans, with a bias for speed to execute
  • Approachable, coachable and open to feedback and conducts self with the highest ethical and moral standards
  • Prior experience supporting a sales and marketing organization, or direct experience is a commercial role is preferred, but not required
  • SHRM, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCHP preferred
