This role will report to the Director of Talent Management for the MFA Companies, who’s mission is to build, support, and sustain the talent needed to meet our fast growth strategy, ambitious goals, and special culture.   You will have a chance to work on and initiate a variety of programs that span the Human Resources spectrum at MFA. That means working on everything from on-boarding our members, employee relations, compensation, benefits, leaves, compliance, employment law, etc.

 

This is a part-time role, up 28 hours per week and the schedule is flexible.  We are seeking a passionate, energetic, creative thinking, detail-oriented, self-starter who is deeply motivated by having an impact. If you’re the right fit, we will make it work!!

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise HR team of 2 additional members as well as all HR processes and programs
  • Manage all employee relations and exits
  • Manage policies, benefits, leaves, our HRIS System, and compensation questions and administration
  • Maintain and communicate all policies
  • Ensure we are in compliance with and up to date on all HR /employment laws
  • Maintain all HR files
  • Act as a liaison for finance and the leadership team as needed for HR matters
  • Support best practices and drive programs to facilitate positive employee relations as well as a positive culture
  • Collaborate with our HR team on a variety of initiatives, including social and community member events.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Human Resources with a preference for a minimum GPA of 3.5
  • PHR strongly preferred
  • 5-10 years of progressive HR operations experience across all functions of HR
  • Proven and caring leadership abilities with a genuine interest in the professional development and mentoring of others
  • A passion for quality, strong attention to detail, highly ethical, self-directed, and results orientated with the ability to adapt to a high energy and fast paced environment
  • Strong business acumen – must understand business and positively impacting business through Human Resources
  • Must have experience working collaboratively – and be excited by working with and influencing across teams at MFA!
  • Ability to remain flexible while evaluating priorities and execute tasks in a changing environment
  • Deep curiosity and interest in learning and a desire to do try out new ways of working
  • Be capable of managing the balance between “what if?” and “get it done!”
  • Strong PowerPoint and all Microsoft Office program skills.  ADP Workforce Now Experience a plus, but not required.
  • Strong communication, coaching, and project management skills.

  • Tewksbury only: We are currently accepting applications from prospective candidates for our Tewksbury, Massachusetts location.

Hours: Full Time/Part Time/Flexible

  • Flexible schedule, 24-28 hours per week
