Job Details

We currently have an immediate opportunity for a Human Resource Manager to join our Flavors Division based in our New Ulm, MN manufacturing site. This position will report to the Director HR for Supply Chain and Corporate Compliance.   Responsible for providing HR support to two manufacturing facilities, located in New Ulm, MN and St Louis, MO for 150+ employees.  Proactive advisor and coach to site leaders on matters related to employee relations, talent management, workforce planning, leadership selection, performance management, retention, succession planning, etc.

 

  • Serve on the plant management team, providing input and counsel on human resources issues.
  • Provide counsel and advice to management ensuring proper handling of employee relations including coaching, counseling, discipline, policy adherence and performance management.
  • Proactively manage employee complaints, ensuring investigations are documented and concluded with resolution
  • Contribute to team of HRBPs supporting manufacturing to ensure continuity of support, consistency and a best practice approach for our plants.
  • Partner with HR colleagues to recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to affect continuous improvement in efficiency within Human Resources.
  • Partner with regional HR Centers of Excellence experts to implement integrated people and organization solutions, e.g., onboarding, benefits, leadership development, staffing and reward and recognition, employee data integrity.
  • Coordinate and facilitate delivery of cyclical HR initiatives, such as talent management processes, workforce planning and succession planning, compensation planning.
  • Proactively  train and advise managers on employee relations, performance management, talent mapping and hi potential career development.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of regional Human Resources policies and procedures and processes to support the short and long term manufacturing strategies.
  • Assist site management in the preparation of the annual budget process by supporting corporate budget tools.
  • Actively participate in all Human Resource management meetings.
  • Partner with regional Talent Management to develop and implement annual training plans.
  • Nurture a continuous improvement culture in the department and at the sites.
  • Actively support site lean manufacturing, safety culture, and change management initiatives
  • Conduct frequent employee communication forums; develop action plans with site management to address employee feedback and concerns.
  • Initiate regular visits to shop floor to support positive employee relations.

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree, HR, Business, Communication or similar field of study.
  • Must have 5-8 years progressive HR generalist experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record in the field of HR, PHR certification desired.
  • Must have excellent understanding of federal and state employment laws.
  • SAP experience is desired but not mandatory, however, experience with HR Tools and Microsoft office, strong excel skills highly desired.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills with ability to build rapport with employees at all levels from shop floor to executive level
  • Ability to collaborate across boundaries, including geographic and functional.
  • Demonstrated ability in problem solving and continuous improvement.
  • Must have excellent presentation skills and be able to communicate in large groups of employees and at all levels
  • Must be willing to work in plant environment and be willing to conduct regular plant tours in order to build rapport with employees.
  • Must be willing to travel domestically approximately 25% of the time.
