HR PRINCIPAL CONSULTANT (Total Rewards)

San Jose, California

 

Working in partnership with the Total Rewards Leader, the Principal Consultant position will consult on compensation initiatives across the business, including possible responsibility for benefit initiatives. The position participates in planning, designing, implementing and administering day-to-day compensation programs to ensure that classification and compensation programs support and are aligned with both short- and long-term business objectives. Additionally, will be expected to lead cross-functional teams to deliver HR Initiatives, provide a high-level of consultative services to assigned business areas and provide continuous improvement to the policies and practices governing the compensation function.

 

The successful professional will have a Bachelor’s Degree in a related business discipline, a minimum of 8 years of related experience with progressive responsibilities and a strong knowledge of federal and state regulations relating to compensation and benefits. Must have a demonstrated ability to creatively solve highly complex problems, gather and analyze data key to success, reach targeted goals, see the big picture and employ strategies to influence leadership decisions, influence behaviors and drive business objectives at all levels of the organization, and train, deliver programs and work with line managers on compensation-related issues. The qualified candidate will have a sense of urgency, strong attention to detail and accuracy and be a self-starter, as well as possess strong analytical, critical thinking, organization, planning, interpersonal, communication and computer (Excel, Word and PowerPoint) skills. Competent accounting and financial analysis skills are a must, as is the ability to function well in a team environment. Project management experience and working with HRIS is strongly preferred. Experience designing and administering variable incentive plans is a plus, as is CCP or other related certifications. Must be able to function well in a team environment.
